Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 12 saw Uzumaki Boruto and Uchiha Sarada team up in order to defeat God Tree Hidari. Boruto used Uzuhiko Rasengan to defeat Hidari, while the final blow was dealt by Kawaki. Upon Hidari's death, a mysterious small object, known as Thorn Soul Bulb came out from within him.

According to Boruto and Jiraiya's clone Kashin Koji, The Thorn Soul Bulb is an entity that would be useful in saving those, who have become a tree. Apart from this information, the characters didn't go much in depth about what the entity is and how it would help. A recent theory may suggest what the purpose of the Thorn Souls Bubls could be.

Boruto Two Blue Vortex: The true purpose of the Thorn Soul Bulbs

The speculation is that Thorn Soul Bulbs contain the Chakra of the individual who was the source of each Divine Tree. If these bulbs are given to the person transformed into a tree, they might revert to their original form. If not, the Divine Tree will regrow.

This leads to the belief that Hidari will regenerate. Since all were once part of the Ten Tails, it is thought that the Thorn Soul Bulbs are naturally attracted to the Divine Trees. Therefore, as long as a Divine Tree can prevent the bulb from being pursued, the Divine Trees are essentially immortal.

A further, more speculative theory suggests that when a Divine Tree regrows from a Thorn Soul Bulb, it evolves in some manner. The experiences of its past life act as nutrients, shaping its regrowth into a more advanced form, although not as evolved as if it had devoured its target.

Regarding Boruto being shot, it is believed he will not use the Flying Raijin technique to escape this situation. His frequent appearances and disappearances in Konoha have raised many questions, and it is anticipated he will be asked to provide answers. This event may not drastically change the status quo, but it could complicate matters for Kawaki, prompting him to take drastic actions.

In Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 12, Thorn Soul Bulb, Boruto confronts God Tree Hidari, placing Himawari under Konohamaru's guard. After blocking Hidari's attacks with Wind Style: Breakthrough, Hidari teleports away using Claw Marks. Elsewhere, Kawaki and Delta locate Jura. Delta contacts the Sensor team for Team 10 and Himawari's locations, while Kawaki notices Jura's strange stance.

Back with Boruto's group, Konohamaru questions Boruto's actions, but Sarada defends him. Boruto instructs Nishi to watch for chakra disturbances. Sumire reveals that Sarada is Hidari's target, prompting Boruto to explain that Hidari was born from Sasuke Uchiha's chakra. Nishi detects disturbances, and Claw Grimes emerges. Boruto and Sarada prepare to fight, with Boruto advising Sarada to counter only attacks aimed at her.

During the battle, Hidari captures Sarada but is struck by Boruto's Rasengan. Despite being injured, Hidari returns, leaving more Claw Marks. Sarada suggests a plan, but Boruto decides to use Rasengan Uzuhiko at Maximum Output. Konohamaru asks Sumire and Nishi to protect Himawari. Hidari returns, and Konohamaru traps him with Rasen Barrier, but Hidari grabs Sarada again. She frees herself and throws Hidari toward Boruto.

Boruto attacks Hidari with an incomplete Rasengan Uzuhiko, partially damaging him. Kawaki arrives and destroys the remaining God Tree, but Hidari's core, with a Rinnegan, remains. Boruto holds the "Thorn Soul Bulb," confirmed by Kashin Koji. Boruto reveals its importance for saving his master. Kawaki demands answers, but Boruto is attacked by Jura, dropping the Thorn Soul Bulb. Jura retrieves it, planning to use Kawaki as food for the Ten Tails and kill Boruto.
