Bye Bye, Earth episode 9 recap
In the previous episode, Belle sought permission from the king in the throne room to leave Park City and cross the divine borders. She wanted to become a nomad, and to earn this title, she was asked to play the keyboard vessel Moonwork, revealing her soul's timbre.
The king then asked her to accept a great curse, believing it would eventually turn into a blessing. Belle, eager to let her true self flourish, agreed but ultimately failed the test.
The king offered her a permanent residence in the palace, warning that her departure would cause suffering to many anyway. However, Belle declined, determined to take the test again at some point.
Meanwhile, Adonis was tormented by the belief that he was partially a corpse. In his rage, he killed the solists pursuing him. But upon reaching the throne room, he saw Belle, whose presence cheered him up, as she seemed truly alive to him.
Adonis then went inside and charged towards the king with a barrage of questions about what the Ashes of the Tried and the Sacred Ashes are all about, how they are connected, why God wants soloists to take up swords, and what is tested in those whose swords are broken, among other things.
Despite his doubts, the king revealed that Adonis was a crucial part of God's plan, who had bestowed upon him the roles of Examiner and Prince Fatal. He was also presented with a sword that did not decay at his touch. However, Adonis also failed the test, realizing he had no reason to leave the city.
Later, Adonis approached Belle, pleading for her to save him or kill him. Then he tried to force himself on her. His touch caused her to bleed internally, but Belle pushed him away, stating they were not in love.
The sudden appearance of Rabbitia further rattled Adonis, who then fled. He reached the top of a cliff and vanished.
What to expect from Bye Bye, Earth episode 10 (speculative)
