Bye Bye, Earth episode 2 recap

The previous episode began with Belle remembering how she had emerged from radiant rocks or stone eggs. She was curious about where the rocks had come from and wondered if they had fallen from the sky. Determined to find her homeland, she longed to blend in.

In the Quartz Forest, she came across a creature called Rabbitia and offered him a drink. She then traveled to Park City in Schwert Land, where she decided to stop at a pub.

When Haggis, the owner of the pub, heard that Belle wanted to become a nomad, he told her that God would not permit it. Instead, he encouraged her to find out whether she was a Topdog or an Underdog, which is to say, whether she was destined to reside within or remain outside the castle.

At this point, a group of soloists stormed into the pub with the Rabbitia, whom Belle had met earlier. They were planning to kill him for fame and make their swords invincible with his blood. Belle managed to subdue them, but during the fight, she realized that her sword was unable to cut anything. She suspected this was due to the curse mentioned by her mentor.

Later, she was taken away by Topdog soloists and put in a cell.

As Belle was taken away, a man named Adonis arrived at the pub, showing interest in the person who defeated the soloists. The Army of Insatiable Emptiness also arrived in the city, sensing a person incapable of joy.

Meanwhile, Belle broke the door of her cell with her sword and sought out Gaff, who acquitted her and offered her his guestroom to stay. He also gave her a dog tag and informed her that she must first fulfill a contract with the king to become a nomad.

The following day, Gaff escorted Belle to the castle's throne room, where they saw Yggdrasil, the God's throne, a sword that has been growing since the dawn of history. The Priestess-King resided with the God, their body absorbed by the tree. They had two faces, representing the Topdog and Underdog.

After Belle informed the King of her intention to become a nomad, they selected Kir Royale to test her. It was revealed that she had a history with this man, as she had previously broken his sword.

What to expect from Bye Bye, Earth episode 3? (speculative)

According to the preview of Bye Bye, Earth episode 3, viewers are expected to see Belle duel Kir Royale, who appears to be very bitter. The episode will be titled Farewell to Those Who Play the Land.

The next episode might explore Belle's past, particularly the identity of her parents. Given that she was born from a rock and is the only featureless one around, it is plausible that she was raised by adoptive parents before she went to train with Sian. However, the reason behind her reluctance to reconnect with them remains a mystery.
