Re: Zero season 3 episode 5 was released on October 30, 2024, and depicted Subaru's first confrontation with Capella. While Capella's malicious personality and disposition were introduced in this episode, her true malice and disregard for human life were also highlighted.
Although the full extent of her evil has yet to be revealed, her transmutation of numerous people into human-sized flies marked a horrifying display of her cruelty. Given her unique abilities and unapologetic attitude toward transforming human life, many fans have drawn comparisons to Mahito from Gege Akutami's series, who exhibits similar traits.

Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the few recent depictions of pure evil in anime. While the "pure evil" trope has been extensively explored across various series, Mahito's lack of a proper goal or underlying trauma behind his actions has made him a fan favorite. Throughout much of the initial parts of the Jujutsu Kaisen series, Mahito serves as the main antagonist, mainly pursuing Yuji Itadori.
Similar to Capella, Mahito's abilities center around the transfiguration of himself and others he comes into contact with. The loss of humanity, along with the fact that his transfigured humans remain conscious during and after the transformation, combined with Mahito’s complete disregard for their suffering, creates a compelling sense of intrigue around his character that persists even after the series' conclusion.

Capella, introduced much earlier in 2014, essentially embodies the same traits as Mahito but with a more intriguing twist. While Mahito's malice revolves around his indifference to human life during and after transfiguration, Capella’s character builds on these traits in an even darker way.
Unlike Mahito, Capella is completely narcissistic, has an absolute disregard for human life, and takes pleasure in transforming humans. Whereas Mahito typically eliminates his victims, Capella transfigures hers into conscious lumps of flesh, making her appear far more malicious.
Despite inspiring many theories and having numerous characters directly related to her present in the story since the very first episode, Capella has remained one of the most mysterious characters in the series.

Re: Zero season 3 episode 6 will be released on November 6, 2024, and will focus on Subaru’s new course of action after Capella makes her demands. If the order of events is not changed, episode 6 will primarily focus on Regulus’s marriage to Emilia. With Reinhard freed from the hostage situation with Felt, it is highly likely that viewers will see him in action in episode 6, especially against Regulus, who is currently the strongest active force in Priestella.
