With War Devil Yoru seemingly set to make her move against Denji and begin fighting him in Chainsaw Man chapter 167, fans are understandably anxious for the upcoming issue’s release. Unfortunately, there’s still another week to go until author and illustrator Tatsuki Fujimoto’s flagship manga series returns to serialization on Shueisha’s various digital platforms.
Even more unfortunate is that there are no verifiable spoilers available for Chainsaw Man chapter 167 whatsoever. While this is typical and to be expected given the series’ digital publication nature, it’s nevertheless frustrating especially given where the story is seemingly headed in the immediate future.
Thankfully, though, there seems to be a clear path which Chainsaw Man chapter 167 will take based on current events in the series and how this next issue was set up.
While it suggests that fans will get some trademark Fujimoto action in the upcoming release, it also means that Denji’s separation from Chainsaw Devil Pochita could be around the corner.
Chainsaw Man chapter 167 likely to see Yoru take advantage of Denji’s fragile state, get an easy win
Chainsaw Man chapter 167 will most likely open up with Haruka Iseumi, Nobana Higashiyama and Katana Man criticizing War Devil Yoru for her offer to Denji.
They will likely say that it’s clearly not what he needs right now, but Denji in his jumbled state of mind should argue against that and say it may be something helpful for him right now.
Thus, he will likely follow War Devil Yoru into an alley away from the rest of their group, where the two will likely begin talking as they walk. They should discuss their respective true goals here, with Yoru’s questioning of Denji’s likely being out of disbelief regarding his personal priorities. Denji, meanwhile, will likely ask questions which attempt to reveal the connection Yoru has with Chainsaw Devil Pochita and her motivation for attempting to kill him.
Chainsaw Man chapter 167 should see the two stop walking shortly after Denji says this, with Yoru then turning to him with an angry look in her eye. She’ll likely say something here about how it’s not his business and that she knows the “real” Pochita in a way that Denji doesn’t and never will.
Denji will likely respond with something fairly innocent and unthreatening regarding his relationship with Pochita, at which point Yoru should snap and begin attacking him.
Denji will likely dodge at first, but be shocked to see what’s going on. Asa Mitaka, meanwhile, will likely argue with Yoru but find herself unable to wrest control of their shared body away from the War Devil.
Chainsaw Man chapter 167 will likely see Denji averse to fighting initially considering his recent words on turning into Chainsaw Man, but he should eventually find he has no choice but to fight. That should prompt a transformation from Denji and the start of a full-blown battle between Yoru and a transformed Denji.
The issue should end shortly after that, with the others noticing that a full-scale battle has begun between Denji and Yoru/Asa. Final panels should focus on Famine Devil Fami, who is likely to crack a smile or express some sort of joy that her plan is finally coming into place.
Likewise, the subsequent issue should see Fami make her next move, possibly with the reveal of Nayuta’s status or the return of the Weapons Hybrids.
