Chainsaw Man chapter 169 began with Denji and co being seated at Sushishi, at which point he began looking around at the other patrons. They were all shown to be enjoying themselves in one way or another, which led Denji to wonder if they’ve all experienced something similar to what Denji just did with Yoru/Asa. He then told Pochita that he wanted to die after everything that’d happened, saying that his heart at least felt nice after what he did with Asa/Yoru.

Denji then questioned if he was happy or unhappy as a blushing Asa looked over at him. She then told Fami she’d wait outside since there was nothing she could eat there, which prompted Fami to answer with her mouth full, making her response completely unintelligible. The focus then shifted to Nobana and Iseumi, who discussed recent events such as Asa losing her arm. At this moment, Barem Bridge sat down next to the pair, commenting on their conversation.

Upon noticing Barem, Denji went to assault him with a pair of chopsticks but stopped as Barem said he could take Denji to Nayuta. This caused Denji to stop, prompting Barem to tell him to sit down next to him. He then revealed that Public Safety had the entire building surrounded, planning to kill everyone once they finished their sushi. The issue ended with Barem promising to let Denji see Nayuta if he saved them all, with Barem’s escape plan starting with eating sushi.
