Following the exciting and highly-anticipated release of chapter 169 earlier this week, fans are eagerly awaiting any and all information they can about Chainsaw Man chapter 170. Much of this anticipation stems from Barem Bridge’s unexpected reappearance in the previous issue, and what it signifies for the series’ immediate future.

Unfortunately, verifiable spoilers for Chainsaw Man chapter 170 are unavailable as of this article’s writing and are unlikely to be made available prior to the manga’s official release. This stems from the digital publication nature of the series, which inherently averts it from being susceptible to the spoiler processes other Shueisha properties have in place.

Thankfully, spoilers likely won’t be needed to guess the major beats of Chainsaw Man chapter 170, which appear fairly predictable given how the previous issue concluded. Opening scenes from the issue are likely to focus on the Public Safety presence surrounding Sushishi before diving into Barem’s plan for escape.

Chainsaw Man chapter 170 likely to see Kishibe return as leader of Public Safety's operation against Denji and co

Chainsaw Man chapter 170 will likely open up with a focus outside Sushishi, specifically showing the scope of the force that Public Safety is preparing to confront Denji with. Focus should then hone in on Hirofumi Yoshida and Fumiko Mifune, who will likely discuss how bold Denji’s breakout plan was and how unlikely its success was.

This should transition into the pair being considered ultimately responsible for the situation since they were first tasked with keeping Denji in check. Likewise, it should be revealed that aside from a single superior overseeing them, they are the ones in command of this mission, looking to redeem themselves in the eyes of the higher-ups.

Chainsaw Man chapter 170 will likely reveal a disgruntled Kishibe as their superior for the mission, lamenting the fact that Public Safety’s relationship with Denji has devolved to this point. This will also likely establish that Kishibe’s absence was due to his disagreement with Public Safety regarding Denji. In turn, readers can expect to learn he was only chosen for this mission specifically because of his familiarity with Denji and his tactics.

Focus should then shift to inside Sushishi, where Barem, Denji, and the others will likely be shown still eating sushi. Barem is likely to then begin explaining their plan but is unlikely to get far before Denji asks how he came to be in possession of Control Devil Nayuta. It’s unlikely fans will get a full explanation of what happened here, but this should transition into the reveal that Famine Devil Fami ordered him to do so.

Chapter 170 should see Denji somewhat surprised by this but not totally so, especially considering he’s already been shown as suspicious of Fami and her intentions. He’ll then likely turn to Fami, asking her what he truly has to do in order to get Nayuta back. Fami is just as likely to be ambiguous here as she is direct, with the direct answer likely being something to the effect of fighting Yoru and going along with her plan.

In either scenario, Denji will likely say that he’s done eating and talking, and wants to get the impending fight against Public Safety over with. At this moment, Public Safety themselves are likely to begin breaching the restaurant, with the panel ending as Denji transforms and prepares for the impending assault.
