With Pochita having erased the concept of mouths heading into Chainsaw Man chapter 175, exactly where the series seems to be headed next is wholly unclear. One thing that can be said for certain about the upcoming issue is that it’s unlikely to have any intelligible dialogue whatsoever considering the new lack of mouths in-series.
Unfortunately, however, there is no currently available verifiable spoiler information for Chainsaw Man chapter 175 as of this article’s writing. Moreover, it’s unlikely that any verifiable spoilers are made available prior to the issue’s official release. This is due to the manga’s digital publication nature as a Shonen Jump+ series, which inherently complicates any potential spoiler processes.
Thankfully, there are some aspects of and events within Chainsaw Man chapter 175 that fans can rely on being present in the official release this coming Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Unsurprisingly, most of this revolves around an action-packed chapter with minimal dialogue that will likely shift in focus across multiple people.
Chainsaw Man chapter 175 likely to set up War Devil Yoru versus Pochita before bouncing to various perspectives
Chainsaw Man chapter 175 will likely open up with a continued focus on Pochita, who could try to eat another Devil before realizing he’s physically unable to. This would be particularly telling, as it would suggest that Pochita is unaware of his power, in turn making him unaware of its effects. This would also completely recontextualize his instinct to eat other Devils, and require fans to restructure their thinking on why he does so from the ground up.
The only other option for this initial focus on Pochita is to simply see him begin going on a rampage, searching eagerly for the next Devil or opponent to find. Likewise, the above scenario should lead into this decision for Pochita regardless. The most likely next opponent would be War Devil Yoru, who already seemed set to enter the battlefield last fans saw her, but now truly needs to in order to achieve her own goals.
Chainsaw Man chapter 175 will likely shift focus at this point from Yoru and Pochita to Fumiko Mifune and her meeting with the Japanese government members. If Mifune is shown to be continuing to sweat and seemingly aware of what has happened via her facial expressions, it could lead into the reveal that she is the Death Devil as many theorize. At the very least, fans can expect some tease for how she’s aware of these changes she presumably shouldn’t be.
This could be followed up by a general focus on Public Safety, who will likely be scrambling due to the lack of mouths which is presumably not a part of their original plan. This will likely lead into a focus on the series’ general world now that mouths are gone, showing some of the immediate fallout of this and how major aspects of existence and society have changed.
Chainsaw Man chapter 175 will likely end with another focus on Pochita and Yoru, at this point seeing mangaka Tatsuki Fujimoto attempt to create dialogue via having them mumble at each other. While it’s unlikely that anything intelligible can be gleaned from the exchange, it’ll at least serve as a segue into the pair’s upcoming skirmish, with the first blows likely making up the final panels of chapter 175.
