Chainsaw Man chapter 179 began with Pochita restarting his engine after being revived, thanks to the Aging Devil’s blood. He then crawled towards and past the Aging Devil, choosing to pick up the sign asking for blood again rather than eat the Primal Fear.

This led the Aging Devil to critique Pochita, while War Devil Yoru noticed this from afar. Thinking the Aging Devil was stealing her kill, she prepared to fire again on both Aging and Pochita.

Meanwhile, Asa Mitaka tried to stop this by saying that Yoru had already proven her superiority. But Yoru wanted to go further by weaponizing Chainsaw Man. She cited Famine Devil Fami’s promise that this would grant both their wishes as her reason for doing so.

Asa asked her if she really believed that, to which she said yes. However, this led to Asa becoming so fearful of Yoru that she took control over her body back, which Yoru intriguingly called her own body here.

After telling her that it hurts to see she’s actually afraid of her, Yoru was granted control again by Asa. However, she then betrayed Asa’s trust by ordering the Gun Goddess to fire on Pochita and the Aging Devil.

The index finger bullet, now revealed to be massive, stopped in midair just before hitting the Aging Devil. The issue ended with the Aging Devil touching the bullet and crumbling into dust, while telling Pochita and Yoru that it was time for them to grow up.

Chainsaw Man chapter 180 will likely open up with the Aging Devil attacking either Yoru or Pochita, clearly intending to kill them given its comment of having them “grow up.” While it’s possible that it isn’t a thinly-veiled threat on their lives, it seems more likely than not that this is the case.

Chapter 180 should also see War Devil Yoru and Asa Mitaka continue speaking with each other regarding Fami’s plan and their clearly strained relationship. While this will likely be interrupted by the Aging Devil attacking them, fans can at least see this notion brought up one more time in the upcoming issue.
