Given the start of a flashback sequence around Aki Hayakawa and Power in chapter 182’s final pages, fans are understandably incredibly anxious for Chainsaw Man chapter 183. Unsurprisingly, fans are also desperate to learn what happens in the upcoming issue given that it’ll be the pair’s first appearance in the series in quite some time.
Unfortunately, there are no verifiable spoilers currently available for Chainsaw Man chapter 183 as of this article’s writing. Moreover, these spoilers are unlikely to come given the series’ digital publication nature, which inherently makes it much more difficult to obtain regular spoilers. Resultantly, fans shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for such leaks on chapter 183 to come.
Thankfully, fans can likely predict Chainsaw Man chapter 183’s larger focus and narrative beats given what they currently know, even without the help of any story-based leaks. The issue will obviously give focus to Denji but is likely to serve as a reminder to keep living and to persevere given when the flashback seems to take place.
Apparent timing of Chainsaw Man chapter 183’s coming flashback teases what its focus and message will be
Chainsaw Man chapter 183 should begin with a focus on Denji, Aki Hayakawa, and Power during their trip to Hokkaido to visit the Hayakawa family grave. Chapter 72 featured a panel of the three of them on a boat together, with Aki and Power wearing the same outfits they have at the end of chapter 182. Given this, it seems likely that the coming flashback will expand on this portion of their trip to Hokkaido.
This flashback will likely take place sometime after the panel in chapter 72, which saw Power throwing up over the side of the boat. This is also supported by the fact that there’s no snow in the boat panels of chapter 72, but there is snow falling in the panels immediately after. The flashback will likely begin with Aki complaining about having to take them along, especially given the trouble Power caused.
Chainsaw Man chapter 183 will likely see Power immediately protest this, while Denji says it’s only fair that they came along because the original trip with Makima was canceled. Aki will likely acknowledge that he’s disappointed by this, but share that he’s happy it worked out that way since the three of them got this time together instead. This will likely prompt Aki to confess that he’s come to view Denji and Power as his new family, possibly even saying he loves them.
Given that this is Part 1 Denji, he’ll likely react in a way that reaffirms his carnal desires before asking Aki how he can think of him and Power as family when his real family is dead. This will likely prompt Aki to discuss his experience with grief and try to find a new reason to live other than revenge. He’ll likely point to the connection he’s formed with Denji and Power as his new reason to live.
Aki will likely conclude on a very revelatory note for Denji, which will relate back to the emotions both he and Asa are likely feeling and discussing in reality. The flashback will likely end at this point, returning to reality where Denji is crying after remembering this moment in his life. However, it’s unlikely that he’ll have any time to be emotional, with the chapter likely to end on the appearance of the humans in the Aging Devil’s world who’ve gone crazy.
