With Denji seemingly set to throw up a Devil that can help turn the tide of Pochita’s fight, Chainsaw Man chapter 188 should begin with a focus on exactly what he vomits. However, thanks to Jump Festa 2025’s panel for the series this past weekend, fans got an exciting sneak peek at the first page of the upcoming issue.
While fans do have this exciting sneak peek, additional Chainsaw Man chapter 188 spoilers are unavailable as of this article’s writing. Such leaks are also unlikely to come in general thanks to the series’ digital publication nature, which is diametrically opposed to the print practices that allow series to develop regular spoiler processes.
That being said, the knowledge of what Chainsaw Man chapter 188’s first page would be gives fans plenty of info to go on when guessing what direction the next release will head in. Firstly, it seems that both Hirofumi Yoshida and the Octopus Devil are set to return, with Denji apparently throwing up a human based on the first-page sneak peek for chapter 188.
Yoshida’s return seemingly comes in Chainsaw Man chapter 188, apparently confirming fan-theories
As mentioned above, the first page of Chainsaw Man chapter 188 was revealed at the series’ Jump Festa 2025 stage. The first page features Denji beginning to throw up whatever Pochita has decided to send him, which appears to be a human based on the leg sticking out of Denji’s mouth. More specifically, the shoes and pants on this leg suggest it to be a member of Public Safety, most likely being Hirofumi Yoshida.
Further supporting the idea that it may be Yoshida is the chapter’s title of “Octopus, War, Chainsaw,” with Yoshida’s primarily Devil being the titular Octopus Devil. Chapter 188 could even be confirming fan theories that take Yoshida’s absence a step further, claiming he was eaten by Pochita in the first place because he is the Octopus Devil. This would also explain why the details of Yoshida’s apparent contract with Octopus have never been addressed.
In any case, Chainsaw Man chapter 188 is almost certain to begin with Denji throwing up Yoshida. After he, Denji, and Asa Mitaka speak with each other briefly, Yoshida should begin attempting to use his Octopus Devil abilities. He’s unlikely to be able to get them to escape Aging Devil’s world, but there should be something he can send into reality for Pochita that will be helpful. This is likely where the reasoning behind the issue’s title will come into play.
While Yoshida may not be able to transport himself, Denji, or Asa out of the Aging Devil’s world, he should be able to transport objects or weapons without issue. This should prompt the trio to start thinking of sending Pochita a new weapon to use beyond his chainsaws. More likely than not, Asa and/or War Devil Yoru will weaponize a part of Denji’s body in such a way that it allows him to keep living while also creating a powerful armament.
Yoshida will likely then teleport this object to Pochita in reality, where the Aging Devil will recognize Yoshida’s abilities and curse his betrayal. The issue should then end with Pochita using this weapon on the Aging Devil to great success. While he’s unlikely to secure victory here, he should do enough damage that the Aging Devil’s back is against the wall in subsequent releases.
