Chainsaw Man chapter 173 saw Yoshida directly involved in the fight against Chainsaw Man, actually managing to trap him and make him throw up the Ear Devil. While many fans expected Yoru to achieve this feat, the current chapter and Yoru's absence have led many fans to put Yoru on fraud watch due to the possibility of her achieving nothing against the Hero of Hell.
Chapter 173 revealed that the Public Safety Department's blunder in chapter 172 was actually a well-thought-out plan, eventually culminating in Yoshida making the Hero of Hell throw up the ingested devils. Yoru initially foreshadowed this procedure in chapter 98 during her introduction. Despite her being in close proximity to the Hero of Hell, she did not engage him at all, leading many fans to label her as a potential fraud.

Chainsaw Man: Yoru on fraud watch following Yoshida' triump over the Hero of Hell
Yoshida has always been an integral part of the power-scaling discussions ever since the tease of him being stronger than Kishibe and almost on par with Quanxi without using his own devil in part 1. Chapter 173 revealed him using his octopus tentacle to restrain the Hero of Hell and actually make him throw up the Ear Devil to return the ears to existence.
Yoshida had previously "lost" to Yoru, while Yoru herself had made claims of making the Hero of Hell throw up. Given that Yoru is still currently present in proximity to the Black Chainsaw Man and hasn't managed to do anything, all while Yoshida has achieved a considerable feat, has turned many fans' attention towards Yoru and her actual relevance and power level in the story.
Fan reactions to the Yoru's inactiveness
A few fans have started claiming that Yoru has been built up to be the one who will make the Hero of Hell throw up the devils. However, if her possible attempts in the future end up doing nothing, she will be nothing more than a fraud.
Some other fans have also mentioned that since even Yoshida was able to do that to the Hero of Hell, it indirectly implies that Yoshida is stronger than Yoru. One fan claimed that Yoshida managing to trap the Hero of Hell while struggling against Yoru simply implies that Yoru is stronger than the Hero of Hell.
"Yoshida failed to trap Yoru in tentacles but succeeded in trapping Pochita. By transitive property, Yoru is stronger than Pochita." One fan said.
"Imagine an octopus doing more then the devil of war lol," another fan said.
One fan mentioned how Yoru would never beat the fraud allegations attached to her since the literal War Devil isn't engaging the Hero of Hell in combat. Meanwhile, Yoshida, who is a regular human, has managed to accomplish more against the Hero of Hell.
A few fans took this opportunity to call back on Yoshida's status as a "regular human." They reiterated how someone who could go toe-to-toe against Quanxi in close combat without using devil powers cannot possibly be a regular human.
"I'm sorry but Yoru is not beating the bum allegations 😭 How is this REGULAR A** DUDE Yoshida the one who's active on the field and she's just watching..." Another fan mentioned.
"Someone that can go hand to hand with Quanxi without using their devil contract is far from a regular dude lol," one fan mentioned.
The fight against the Hero of Hell takes on a different tone in chapter 173 due to the possibility that the Public Safety Department will simply use the opportunity to test out the Hero of Hell's powers. Chainsaw Man chapter 174 will be released on August 13, 2024.
