In the past couple of chapters of the Chainsaw Man manga, Pochita, who took control of Denji's body and is currently in his 'Hero of Hell' form, has been on a rampage against the Public Safety as well as other devils.

Pochita initially began his killing spree by wiping out the entirety of Public Safety's 5th Division, as well as eating and erasing the Ear Devil out of existence. Although the Public Safety eventually managed to get Pochita to vomit out the Ear Devil, it ended up being all in vain, since Pochita managed to erase the Mouth, Octopus, Snow, and the Bitterness Devils following that as well.

While the pattern in which the Devils and concepts were being erased by Pochita in the past couple of chapters may seem random to many, there were some eagle-eyed fans on social media, who managed to come up with a theory that seemingly predicted the concept that Pochita may go after next.

Fans predict 'Hero of Hell' Pochita's next target in Chainsaw Man

Ever since Barem revealed to Denji that he had killed Nayuta in chapter 170 and literally served her head on a platter to him, Denji lost control of himself, allowing the 'Hero of Hell' Pochita to take charge and go on a killing spree.

This was a moment that the story has been building up to for quite some time. What's more, even the entire fanbase was in anticipation of the moment when Denji went berserk due to every single tragedy that happened to him throughout the series.

Many fans interpreted the moment when Denji killed Barem, as him finally letting go of his humanity and his dream of having a 'normal life', seeing as how things came crashing down for him no matter how hard he tried to live in peace with Nayuta and his dogs. Therefore, it only made sense for him to allow Pochita to take over, now that his suffering had reached an ultimate breaking point following the recent events of the manga.

After taking over Denji's body and transforming into his strongest form as the feared 'Hero of Hell', Pochita has been on a rampage, killing Public Safety officers and Devils left and right. So far, Pochita has eaten and erased the Ear, Mouth, Snow, Octopus, and Bitterness Devils, along with their associated concepts and fears.

Although the Public Safety did manage to get Pochita to vomit out the Ear Devil and return the concept of ears to the world, it proved to be all in vain, since Pochita opted to erase the concept of mouths instead, so that he would be unable to vomit out any other Devils.

While it may also indicate that he can no longer consume any other Devils either, some fans on social media proposed a theory that suggested that Pochita's carnage wouldn't stop here and that he may target the Eye Devil next.

This theory is based on the proverbial principle of "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil". If this theory is taken into consideration, one may notice that Pochita has already followed the principles of "Hear No Evil" and "Speak No Evil" by wiping out the Ear and Mouth Devils.

Therefore, as per this principle, it would only make sense for Pochita to go after the Eye Devil next. That said, this theory would only work if the mangaka, Tastuki Fujimoto, had actually meant to refer to this principle while selecting the Devils on Pochita's hit list.

On the other hand, some fans also suggested that the Devils who were being wiped out by Pochita, were somehow related to every single one of Denji's past traumas. Conversely, Pochita's motive could also be the complete erasure of all of humanity's 5 remaining senses, since it was previously stated that he had once erased humans' sixth sense.

While these theories certainly sound interesting, predicting the direction in which the story may go next is undoubtedly an impossible task at this juncture of the manga. As such, fans must wait till the release of Chainsaw Man chapter 175 to find out Pochita's next victim.
