Chainsaw Man's cries in the latest chapter might signal the return of a fan-favorite female character

The latest chapter of Chainsaw Man featured a bizarre moment that could be hinting at the much-awaited character's comeback. In chapter 177, the Hero of Hell fled the battlefield while facing Yoru. He reappeared moments later, taking over from a young volunteer advocating a Blood Drive. It's likely he needed blood to heal and continue fighting following Yoru's sudden counterattack.

However, what was odd were his cries. The way it has been shown in the chapter, there appears to be a strong probability that author Tatsuki Fujimoto might allow the fan-favorite Power to return. While her character's exit was quite unfortunate, it left the door open for a return, and now might finally be the time for it. Here's how.

Chainsaw Man chapter 177: Hero of Hell's cries might hint at a Power comeback

In the most recent Chainsaw Man release, chapter 177, Yoru resorted to a strategy she did not imagine. Specifically, the Devils Tank and Gun were turned into gauntlets for her after Chainsaw Man sliced off her arms when she launched an attack on her.

The blow from her Gun Gauntlet was p`owerful enough to make him throw up the previously consumed Mouth Devil and cut off his right arm. Having taken significant damage, the Hero of Hell fled the scene and appeared next to a young girl promoting a Blood Drive, scaring her off before loudly crying out for blood, of course, to heal himself. This is where things take an interesting turn as a certain theory comes to life.

Fans will remember that Pochita's contract with Denji was to revive the latter so he could make his dreams come true. Similarly, the extreme need for blood might trigger the memory of Power giving Denji her blood. To recap, Power made a contract with the boy wherein he was to seek out and make friends with the new Blood Devil, as he did with her, in exchange for her blood.

With Power dead, she has likely been reincarnated and is somewhere in Hell at present. Further, with the way recent events have unfolded, it cannot help but be noticed that Chainsaw Man seems to know where certain could be found. It cannot be coincidental that he just stumbled upon the Mouth Devil and consumed it, i.e., he found the Devil when he needed to.

Likewise, the Hero of Hell might feel the urge to seek out the reincarnated Blood Devil. As mentioned, having been killed, the Blood Devil has been reincarnated in Hell. Moreover, as seen in part 1, Chainsaw Man traveled from Hell to Earth by cutting through the door the Hell Devil emerged from. The theory assumes that he can do the reverse and will do so to go in search of the new Blood Devil.

So, to bring it all together, the Hero of Hell's need for blood at the moment might see Power make a return to the franchise. Since her passing, fans have been pining for an opportunity for her to make a comeback. Initially, it did not seem possible as the story continued to progress and the spotlight was on Makima and the Gun Devil. But recent events could just flip the tide of things.

Final thoughts

The above-explained theory is a valid one in terms of linking the story. After all, there is likely a very good reason Power made her only contract with Denji before she gave him her blood. Some might feel that it could have been akin to a dying wish, but that is far from the truth.

That entire scene depicted Denji and Power's dynamic as practically siblings who shared a deep love and concern for each other. Even though she knew that she wouldn't be the one to return as the Blood Devil, she still wanted Denji to befriend the new entity to keep the relationship going. As things stand, this looks to be the best opportunity for an emphatic Power comeback.
