Chainsaw Man's Death Devil may give Denji his hardest choice so far

Chainsaw Man has explored some truly complex topics but one that has been quite constant is the aspect of death and coming back to life. Most fans agree that the protagonist, Denji, has had to deal with several losses in the series and now there is a very good chance that the Death Devil could show up and give him the biggest test in the entire story.

There are a lot of expectations surrounding the Death Devil and what she could do, with a new theory suggesting that she could offer Denji an opportunity to bring back his loved ones. Perhaps this would imply giving away the heart of Chainsaw Man, also known as Pochita, or something else, such as the life of Asa Mitaka. Regardless of what he gives away, Denji would be challenged with the hardest choice in the series.

Explaining how the Death Devil could offer Denji's dead loved ones to him in Chainsaw Man

A running theme throughout the story is one involving death and how some characters can resurrect in some shape or form. This has been evidenced by the likes of Denji and Asa Mitaka who have died and come back through deals with Devils. Moreover, Makima has reincarnated into Nayuta after being eaten by the protagonist. There are many more cases where people can possibly return.

However, Denji has still lost many loved ones throughout the story, with Aki and Power being the two most prominent examples and Nayuta being the most recent one. Therefore, it wouldn't be very surprising if the Death Devil has the ability to bring people back to life and perhaps she would entice Denji with the idea of reviving his friends.

Perhaps the Death Devil is going to do that to get Pochita's heart or get him out of the way to execute the Apocalypse. This would fit with the overarching narrative thus far and would also test Denji's character, especially considering how he has grown as a person throughout the narrative.

There is also a chance that the Death Devil could challenge Denji's morality by offering his loved ones in exchange for Asa Mitaka because she might want the power of the War Devil or something along those lines. This situation would fit, considering that the relationship between these two characters has been pivotal in the second part of the story in Chainsaw Man.

Denji's journey throughout the story has proven that money, food, and even s*xual gratification aren't enough without special connections, which is why this would be his biggest challenge. The Death Devil could give him an opportunity to see his loved ones once again, with the series perhaps ending when this decision is made at the climax of the story.

Final thoughts

Chainsaw Man has constantly depicted the tragedy and consequences of death. It has also shown certain characters returning from the dead, giving them a second chance. In that regard, the Death Devil offering this kind of deal to Denji would be a natural progression for the story and would be a great challenge for him.
