The threat of the Death Devil seems to be ever-looming in Chainsaw Man. An uncomfortable tension has been palpable since the Famine Devil or Fami predicted the arrival of a "Great King of Terror". This incident is believed to herald the end of humanity and usher in a new age of Devils, with the only ones capable of fighting it off being Yoru, the War Devil, and Chainsaw Man.
But what if such a horrible fate is not in store? What if Denji and Asa Mitaka/Yoru can escape the Aging Devil's world and return to prevent or defeat the Death Devil? It could spell out a completely different scenario than what was predicted. Here's a closer look.

Chainsaw Man: A Death Devil-less world might be on the cards
In chapter 132, the Chainsaw Man Church for World Peace, or simply the Chainsaw Man Church pushed an intriguing narrative. Using a fake Chainsaw Man, they spoke of a plot involving Adam and Eve and a world without Devils, something that the fake was supposedly fighting for. But there is a chance that such a thing might actually happen in the upcoming chapters.
As mentioned in previous theories, creator Tatsuki Fujimoto will likely the present situation to further develop Denji and Asa's relationship. Moreover, Yoru will be added to the mix and compelled to understand things since she is powerless at the moment. Following this, they might manage to return to the real world where they will face and probably defeat the Death Devil, maybe even wipe it out.
However, a world without the Death Devil would be an extremely chaotic one. Last of the Four Horsemen, the potential for a world without it brings forth fascinating implications for future chapters. The Death Devil represents a primal fear, the fear of death. But the Death Devil disappearing (possibly consumed by Pochita) would drastically alter the series' universe.
Prior events in the manga have explored the kind of influence devils like the War Devil and Control Devil had on the world. Now, many seem to be theorizing the possibilities of a world where Death Devil gets erased. As mentioned, it could very significantly impact how fear functions. Fujimoto has teased this concept of Devil erasure before, implying the deletion of their fears or concepts.
Without the concept of death wiped out, the natural order of life might be cast into complete and utter chaos. This would likely affect not only physical death but the overall perception and fear associated with passing away. In turn, a vital aspect of humanity may come undone, possibly leading to a scenario where no one fears death or maybe even die.
Fear is what drives humans and removal of the most primal fear of death could make life unworthy of living. Moreover, without the pain and fear brought about by Devils, humanity would have nothing to balance out their joys. Anything unbalanced is unable to sustain for long and eventually falls. Similarly, with Death non-existent, humans could go crazy, like the ex-Devil Hunter in chapter 180.
Final Thoughts
Fujimoto is unafraid to introduce unique and terrifying concepts in Chainsaw Man. As seen with the Aging Devil and its sinister offer, expect nothing less or possibly worse when it comes to the Death Devil. Many are curious to see how the creator puts forth this particular Devil, given that each of Fujimoto's main Devils so far has been distinctly designed to reflect the fear they embody.
However, defeat and eradication of the concept of Death will undoubtedly send the world spiraling into chaos. Multiple ways could play since the value of life will diminish as life is worth living because we all are edging towards an end. But what would be intriguing would be whether humanity becomes immortal with the Death Devil's erasure or it will pass away like normal, just unaware of it entirely.
