Chainsaw Man's War Devil, aka Yoru, has proven to be an intriguing character since her introduction. She first appeared in chapter 98 as a large, owl-like figure, offering Asa Mitaka a second chance at life. Since then, the pair have shared the same body and have come a long way in terms of development.

According to the series' lore, the War Devil is one of the Four Horsemen, alongside the Control Devil, Famine Devil, and Death Devil. Following their battle with Chainsaw Man, they were forced to come to Earth in search of the Hero of Hell to complete the job.

The most recent chapter probably just revealed key information regarding Yoru's power. Rather, given the nature of War, it is possible that this Devil might have control over the assets of the US, and the country's origins play a huge part in that.

Chainsaw Man: US' origin might be the key to Yoru having control over its assets

Chapter 177 began with Yoru using her new gauntlets to knock back Chainsaw Man during their battle. As she states, she had never imagined taking this step and accessing the Tank and Gun Gauntlets. The Tank Devil and the Gun Devil were both products of War. Further, they would fight as the War Devil's symbols of horrors. She goes further to even call them her children.

As the chapter progresses, Chainsaw Man, realizing himself to be on the back foot, flees the battlefield in search of blood. However, the ending bits of the chapter is where things get interesting - about 400,000 of the 3.5 million National Pistol Members lost their index fingers.

Subsequently, Yoru was seen standing in the same stance as the Statue of Liberty, whose face cracks soon after. At first glance, it might look like an awesome parallel, thanks to Tatsuki Fujimoto's genius. But Fujimoto is seemingly trying to tell viewers something and likely show the extent of Yoru's powers.

To begin with, America has had a history of War and Conflict. The country has witnessed several wars, such as the American Revolutionary War, the Cherokee-American War, the Northwest Indian War, and the American-Algerian War. Moreover, as time passed, gun laws in the country always seemed to be a point of heavy debate.

In chapter 177, Yoru being likened to the Statue of Liberty showcases her influence over the country's assets. This connection is particularly poignant given the country's extensive history of revolution. Fujimoto himself stated that the design of the Gun Devil was meant to show what it would look like if one combined all of America's guns.

Similarly, as mentioned, Yoru, being the War Devil, would have control over the country's resources. This point was further highlighted when the Pistol Association's members lost their fingers. That might have been the start of Yoru's influence. With both gauntlets on her now, she is bound to be more powerful than when she started the battle. To further bend things in her favor, the Hero of Hell looks to be gravely injured and is now in need of blood to continue, which could herald a Power comeback.
