One Piece author Eiichiro Oda is known for incorporating a wide range of different influences when it comes to his series, and one that many might not have noticed has to do with the character of Tony Tony Chopper. A person on X came up with a theory that Chopper's true Devil Fruit could be a way to explain his unique abilities and advanced medical skills, potentially adding another layer to his character.
Many Devil Fruits in One Piece, particularly those of a Zoan variation, are inspired by myths and other influences, so it wouldn't be surprising if that is the case with Chopper. This theory also has a degree of connection with who he is, his backstory in Drum Island, and the different skills he has developed throughout the years.

Explaining how the origins of Chopper's Devil Fruit could detail how his character works in One Piece
Chopper's Devil Fruit is the Hito Hito no Mi, which gives him human consciousness despite being a reindeer and allows him to manipulate his form, especially when he consumes his experimental drug known as Rumble. While this is common knowledge when it comes to the series, there is an argument to be made that author Eiichiro Oda has a clear influence on this character.
There is a Japanese deity known as Okuninushi, which is the god of farming, business, medicine, and nation-building. The concept of medicine is quite easy to see with Chopper since he is a certified doctor, and he did do a degree of business by selling some of his Rumble balls to Bepo and was already doing similar ventures with Doctorine Kureha in Drum Island.
The farming concept might be a bit more complicated to address since he probably has an area in the Straw Hats' ship where he can grow his medicine. And nation-building, while a massive stretch, could be the fact he lived in a castle at Drum Island with Kureha, although this is certainly the weakest point of the theory.
Chopper's Hito Hito no Mi is similar to Luffy's Hito Hito no Mi Model Nika. Luffy's Devil Fruit allows him to emulate the powers of Sun God Nika, allowing him to stretch his body like rubber and use other attributes like lightning and fire. The only weakness of this fruit apart from the standard Devil Fruit weakness against the sea is that it is limited by the user's imagination.
Luffy could theoretically stretch himself without any constraints, but the limits of his mind restrict. We see him tearing off his arm by stretching too much. Similarly, Chopper's fearfulness could act as a limiter on how much human-like his transformations could become.
Post-timeskip Chopper is said to have mastered all his transformation except the Monster Point and could activate them without Rumble Balls. This could be seen as a progress in his understanding of his Devil Fruit. His time with Dr. Kureha and Dr. Hiriluk are the biggest motivation behind him pursuing a medical practice.
Final thoughts
There is no denying that there are a lot of different influences for the creation of Chopper's character in One Piece, and the god Okuninushu could very well be one of them. However, this is just a fan theory and needs to be taken as such.
