Boruto and Code have been linked to some capacity throughout the series but a recent fan theory suggests that they could be vessels for the reincarnation of Shibai Otsutsuki. It has been mentioned by Momoshiki that Shibai reached a whole new plane of existence a long time ago, and there is the possibility of the latter returning by taking over the body of one of these characters.
The return of Shibai Otsutsuki to the reality of Boruto has been a long-running theory in the community, mostly because a lot of people assume that he is going to be the series' final villain. In that regard, the character of Code could play an interesting role in this situation, especially considering that he has a special role, according to Amado, and the nature of his own Karma.

Explaining how Boruto and Code could be connected to Shibai Otsutsuki's reincarnation
Code's survival when receiving Isshiki's Karma is the genesis of this theory, as he is the only one who stayed alive after the process. Therefore, it could be because he was blessed by Shibai Otsutsuki to be his vessel, thus eradicating Isshiki's essence from his Karma, and Code stayed alive as a result, which could explain why he has that deity's Shinjutsu, although Amado put limits on it.
This also applies to the protagonist, who only develops half of the horns when he is activating his Karma, unlike Kawaki, thus signaling his Shibai vessel status, with said horns only appearing where he has his scar.
As an interesting fact, Code has a scar on the opposite side, which could suggest their dual role as Shibai vessels. This is further cemented by how they were deemed as special even before getting Karma implanted.
Therefore, there is a strong argument to be made that Code, at the moment, doesn't have Isshiki's Karma because those who received it from Jigen all died in the process. Code's possible connection to Shibai could be the reason he survived, especially considering that the latter has reached another plane of existence and could potentially play that role in keeping him alive.
Shibai's role in the story

There is no denying that Shibai Otsutsuki might be the most mysterious character, not only in Boruto but in the entirety of the Naruto universe. That is because of his concept as the God of the Otsutsuki and how he managed to overcome death, thus becoming a greater being, which is something no one else has accomplished in the series.
As mentioned earlier, there is a common perception among the fanbase that Shibai is going to be the final villain of the series and it makes sense. The way his existence has been introduced and the fact the Otsutsuki have always been a threat to humanity could be a perfect combination for this to happen, although fans will have to wait and see what author Masashi Kishimoto comes up with.
Final thoughts
These two characters being connected in some shape or form to Shibai Otsutsuki could be an interesting twist that leads to the latter's resurrection. On paper, this could make a lot of sense, especially regarding Code's special status, although this is mere fan speculation as of this writing.
