Boruto has already taken a very active role in the story despite being an integral bystander or a victim of consequences in Part 1 of the series. While the protagonist’s overwhelming power level has shifted the entire focus of the fandom onto himself, Kashin Koji, who quite literally orchestrated the protagonist's growth, has remained in the shadows.
In contrast to Kashin Koji’s new role in the story, Code is reduced to a mere punching bag used to establish the power level of the new antagonist, the Shinju, despite Code being the spiritual successor of Isshiki. Kashin Koji and Isshiki embody completely opposing roles, even though they were formerly part of the same organization.
While Kashin Koji was created solely to lure Isshiki into a fight, Code’s existence revolves around serving Isshiki and his goal of evolving into godhood. Given the fundamental opposition to their goals, even after Isshiki's death, a showdown between Code and Kashin Koji may be the sole event driving Code’s development in Boruto Part 2.

Boruto: Code's most important fight will be against Kashin Koji
Kashin Koji and Code were both operatives of Kara with different backgrounds yet somewhat similar origins. Kashin Koji was a tailored clone of Jiraiya, created by Amado to lure out Isshiki to either eliminate him or significantly hinder his plans.
On the other hand, Code was a regular human who became a subject of Isshiki and Amado’s experiments. He later emerged as a potential Otsutsuki vessel, eventually growing stronger than Jigen.
Code's unmatched loyalty to Isshiki and his cause ultimately made him a spiritual successor to the Otsutsuki, now steadily working toward achieving godhood. His existence was molded to make him an individual who worships Isshiki to an unimaginable degree. Various parties have repeatedly used Code as a disposable resource, and he has resigned himself to the fate of being used by others.
In contrast, Kashin Koji, who was merely a tool created by Amado to end or delay Isshiki, somehow defied his fate of dying at Isshiki’s hands. He has become the sole figure directly influencing the world's fate with his Ten Directions technique. While Code remains a victim of fate, Kashin Koji overcame his destiny and took control of it.
Kashin Koji’s current actions against the world’s end and his role as one who controls fate put him in direct opposition to Code, who is pursuing goals entirely contrary to Koji’s. Given Code’s need for significant redemption and his recent streak of defeats by nearly every entity, he may take drastic action to regain control.
Kashin Koji was the first step in Isshiki’s downfall and has continued to work against Isshiki’s goal even after the Otsutsuki’s death. Code may hunt down Kashin Koji to avenge Isshiki and reclaim his control over the narrative. This conflict, embodying the themes of controlling fate versus succumbing to it, clearly sets up a path for redeeming Code’s status as a villain in Boruto Two Blue Vortex.
Final thoughts
Boruto Two Blue Vortex chapter 16 will be released on November 20, 2024. It will depict Kawaki and the protagonist's joint operation against the Shinju. Given Code's involvement in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 15, it is almost certain that a major event is needed to redeem his character, which has been reduced to fodder.
