Demon Slayer has had an incredible run this season, despite fans' initial doubts. The Hashiras received plenty of screen time, and their backstories were explored as well. The overall tone of this season wasn’t as serious as previous seasons, as it lacked a prime antagonist.
That being said, the series' latest episode just brought back Kibutsuji Muzan, and he is more menacing than ever. His slow strut towards a dying Kagaya Ubuyashiki sent shivers down viewers' spines.
The threat is imminent, and the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps will finally confront the Demon King himself. The Hashiras are in for a world of pain as the first-ever demon has managed to step foot into the headquarters of the Corps.

Demon Slayer: Hashiras have every reason to be worried about Muzan’s return
Muzan and his legion of demons laid low for quite some time. Muzan finally managed to see Nezuko, a demon, conquer the sun. This was his most important goal as it would give him true immortality. The demons present in the Infinity Castle didn’t go around hunting humans for a while since the Demon King was attempting to devise a plan and get his hands on Nezuko Kamado.
In the latest episode, Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, was shown crushing an eyeball that had the Upper Moon rank inscribed on it. This was a massive cause of concern, as it meant the location of the Corps’ headquarters was not a secret anymore. Viewers’ worst nightmares came true when they saw Kibutsuji Muzan slowly strutting towards Kagaya and Amane Ubuyashiki.
The leader of the Corps was dying due to the curse inflicted on his bloodline. The upcoming will feature a conversation between him and Muzan. Despite Kagaya’s extremely soft and caring demeanor, he holds a great deal of grudge and anger towards Muzan. Since he became a demon, all males from his bloodline are cursed with short lives. Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s goal is to destroy Muzan and every demon roaming freely.
Hashiras have every reason to be worried, as Muzan could potentially kill Kagaya Ubuyashiki. Moreover, Muzan is the strongest demon in existence, and every Hashira and demon hunter present must put their lives on the line to try and defeat him. The upcoming episode will be quite exciting and will serve as a transition to the Infinity Castle arc.
Given the sheer difference in power and skills, blood will be spilled, and there is a very good chance that both regular demon hunters and Hashiras alike might not live to see another day. It will be interesting to see the likes of Gyomei, Sanemi, and Obanai in action as they take on Muzan and his legion of Upper Moon demons during the course of the series.
