The release of Dandadan chapter 179 earlier this week was significant for many reasons, but none more so than its implicit confirmation of Count Saint-Germain’s guilt in recent events. This includes both the attack on Seiko Ayase and her friends Payase and Kashimoto, as well as Kouki Yukishiro’s recent actions against Momo Ayase and co.

However, Saint-Germain’s appearance in Dandadan chapter 179 also seemingly gave fans an indication of his next actions. In turn, it seems likely that Saint-Germain will be the main focus of the series in the coming weeks. What’s significant about this is that the context of Saint-Germain’s plans may be teasing Turbo Granny’s imminent return to the series.

In Dandadan chapter 179, Count Saint-Germain (in disguise as the teacher Sanjome) is invited to a singles night by another teacher at Momo Ayase and Ken “Okarun” Takakura’s school. While unconfirmed, his plan is most likely to find new people to manipulate into doing his bidding after the Iron Bull and Kouki Yukishiro are defeated. Each of them was also shown to be emotionally manipulated or blackmailed by Saint-Germain, hence this assumption.

Likewise, it seems he’ll be targeting women at the singles night who are easily emotionally manipulable. While it’s possible that he also intends to target men, he’ll likely target women because it could lead to Turbo Granny’s return. It is briefly but clearly established that a key part of Turbo Granny’s origins and motivations is her anger at seeing young girls manipulated, abused, and taken advantage of.

With Turbo Granny’s whereabouts and actions since her last appearance still unknown as of Dandadan chapter 179, it’s very plausible that she has been tracking Count Saint-Germain. The two were already teased to have not just a prior history but an emotionally distressful and eventful one in the final chapter of the Space Globalists Arc. This motivates her to be interested in his actions and observe his attempt to manipulate these young women.

More specifically, seeing him do so will anger her enough to take action, combined with her established resentment for him, which is clear in chapter 120. The conflict that would follow should at least give fans a basic understanding of the specifics of their relationship before it ends. Likewise, this should motivate Turbo Granny to reunite with Seiko and co after learning that he is targeting them.

One final major piece of evidence further supporting the idea that this will be the series’ next immediate focus is the current lull in Momo/Okarun and Seiko’s stories. The former pair have just finished befriending Yukishiro, while Seiko has split off from her allies to find a way to turn Momo back to normal. Filling this time with a focus on Saint-Germain is a shrewd means of always ensuring an interesting focus for the series.

In turn, it seems that Turbo Granny’s long-awaited return is finally coming, first with a focus on her versus Saint-Germain before seeing her return to Seiko and co’s side.
