Dandadan episode 9 began with Aira continuing to attack the Serpoians and the boxer-like alien, but eventually being overwhelmed. This prompted Okarun to get involved, but he and Aira were both restrained soon after. Thankfully, Momo arrived at the perfect time and freed them, eventually allowing the trio to work together and do some serious damage. However, the boxer alien transformed into a mantis shrimp-like state, growing much more powerful also.
The trio fought against the mantis shrimp alien briefly but were interrupted by Nessie, the creature Momo ran into in episode 8. They began running, but Aira got hit and separated from the others, starting to drown.
Momo and Okarun tried to think of a plan, prompting them to bicker over whether or not he and Aira were making out. As the conversation became genuine, they were attacked and forced into a position similar to how Momo found him and Aira.
Upon returning to the surface, Momo came up with a plan to save Aira which worked. As the trio planned their final attack, the last surviving Serpoian merged with Nessie and the mantis shrimp alien, forcing Momo and co to readjust their plans.
Eventually, they were victorious, defeating the merged Nessie and returning to reality. However, the episode ended by revealing that their clothes hadn’t come back, running off in shame as their peers saw them.
