Where to watch Dandadan episode 3?

The series is set to stream on both Crunchyroll and Netflix during the Fall 2024 anime season internationally with English subtitles as the series airs weekly in Japan. As of this article’s writing, an English dub has been shown as in production via a trailer, but no other language dubs are currently confirmed.

Dandadan episode 2 began with Momo accusing Okarun of lying that his name was Ken Takakura. After this, the pair made their way to Momo’s house to ask her grandmother for help with the Turbo Granny’s curse. However, she wasn’t there when they arrived, so the two got new clothes instead. They then bickered about whose fault this was, leading Okarun to say he couldn’t let his one chance at a friend slip by, and chased after her likewise.

He added that she could go back to ignoring him when this was all done. However, Momo instead told him not to assume other people’s feelings and that he doesn’t have friends because he pushes people away. However, she then approached him to comfort him in the hall, with a doorbell interrupting them shortly after. Momo urged caution since she knew it as the doorbell that her grandmother said evil spirits use.

The spirit arrived because Momo took the barrier talisman down to let Okarun past the entrance, deciding to sneak out back and put it back up likewise. However, when they went outside, they were entrapped in a space with an alien’s black fog poisoning them. Thanks to Okarun’s powers and Momo’s tact, they eventually put the talisman back and defeated the alien. However, the episode ended with Momo passing out and a possessed Okarun about to eat her.

What to expect from Dandadan episode 3 (speculative)?

Dandadan episode 3 should open with a focus on how Momo and Okarun will get out of this situation. The most likely answer is that Momo’s grandmother will show up, given that she is a spirit medium and thus perfectly equipped to deal with Turbo Granny and Okarun. This would also serve to move the story forward by naturally setting up the rest of the episode to focus on how to rid Okarun of Turbo Granny’s curse.

Episode 3 will likely also see the Turbo Granny interfere in these plans in some way, especially if Momo’s grandmother defeats her in battle earlier on. While it’s possible Okarun dies, this seems unlikely given that he and Momo both appear to be dual protagonists in the series. The episode will likely end with whatever plan the trio has come up with being enacted, setting it up as the main focus of episode 4.
