Dandadan episode 3 recap

Dandadan episode 3 began with a focus on the psychic Santa Dodoria, whose predictions about an idol are all seemingly wrong. Dodoria is quickly revealed to be Seiko Ayase, Momo’s grandmother, as she returns home and saves Momo from a possessed Okarun just in time. Momo woke up in her bed later, prompting an awkward conversation with her grandmother, where she apologized and acknowledged her to be a true spirit medium.

She then discovered Okarun was alive and in the main shrine, which kept his curse at bay without Momo’s help. Seiko then appeared, imploring Momo to forget about Okarun and not get hurt herself.

However, she rejected this, prompting Seiko to help them defeat Turbo Granny. She first instructed them to train for a race with Turbo Granny. Okarun would do the actual racing with Momo on his back while her powers defended them.

Seiko also explained that Turbo Granny was powerful for fusing with a location-bound spirit. Their method of victory lay in removing Turbo Granny from that location. However, Seiko also revealed that she couldn’t help since her powers are region-locked. Turbo Granny then launched a surprise attack on them, endangering Seiko’s life and instructing Momo and Okarun to face her tonight as the episode ended.

What to expect from Dandadan episode 4 (speculative)

Dandadan episode 4 will likely open up with a focus on Okarun and Momo as they arrive at the Turbo Granny’s tunnel. The pair will likely review their plan of attack for fans’ sake, emphasizing how it could go wrong for them. However, Turbo Granny is unlikely to give them a significant amount of time here, choosing instead to strike early and hard to attempt to catch the pair off-guard. Turbo Granny may even control Okarun to gain some advantage.

Episode 4 will also likely reveal some aspect of Turbo Granny’s character, which fans previously didn’t know. This is specifically set up via the fact that she has become or merged with a location-bound spirit, a choice likely motivated by some significant reason. In any case, the episode will likely tease this as their fight begins before focusing fully on the race. The full details should be explored later, presumably once Okarun and Momo are victorious.
