However, when he notices Syr sitting on the bed, wearing a shirt, Bell becomes even more embarrassed. Syr then asks Bell to sleep beside her, which he doesn't accept initially, telling her that his goddess would get upset. Eventually, the boy sits next to her and asks why she asked him out on a date.
Syr tells Bell in Danmachi season 5 episode 4, that she wanted to prove her feelings to him. Suddenly, she tries to kiss Bell but gets pushed away. Bell Cranel tries to explain to Syr that they will only get hurt if they are swept up in the moment.
That said, Syr remains adamant. She almost begs Bell to accept her feelings. Danmachi season 5 episode 4 then shows Syr's eyes glowing as she requests Bell to accept her. Bell's eyes show the same violet colors. However, the spell is suddenly broken, and Syr urges the boy not to look at her.

The next morning, Bell Cranel wakes up and finds Syr is no longer in the room. He goes to the tavern looking for her but doesn't find her. Welf, who is forced to work at the tavern along with the other Hestia Familia members, learns the whole story from Bell and advises him not to leave the girl hanging. He feels Bell should answer Syr's feelings with what his heart desires.
Danmachi season 5 episode 4: The Freya Familia attacks Syr
Following Welf's invaluable advice in Danmachi season 5 episode 4, Bell Cranel continues his search for Syr. Interestingly, he observes that Freya Familia members are no longer on the lookout. He feels he should ask Hedin Selland once about Syr.
While looking for Hedin, Bell Cranel finds Hogni Ragnar, the dark elf, atop a building. From Hogni's pompous words, he learns that the dark elf must have been left to keep tabs on him, just in case. Besides that, he hears some vague words, such as "memories" and "farewell," unaware of their implications. As Bell approaches Hogni, the dark elf flees.
In Danmachi season 5 episode 4, Bell Cranel notices Ottarl atop a tower. He casts his eyes in a direction as if asking Bell to go there. Meanwhile, Hestia begs Hermes to help her look for Bell. Irked by Hestia's constant nagging and crying, Hermes tells her that he has already sent Asfi to look for him from the skies.
Elsewhere, Anya catches a whiff of Bell's location. Apparently, he's heading northeast toward the manufacturing district to search for Syr. Meanwhile, Ryu appears glum, as she can't believe Bell and Syr spent a night together.
Danmachi season 5 episode 4 then switches to Bell, who finds Syr waiting for her. She is jubilant as Bell has come to find her. The boy hands her over an accessory she left at the inn, which she wears on her head. Overjoyed, Syr hugs Bell and almost reaches to kiss him, imploring Bell not to turn her down again.
Just then, in Danmachi season 5 episode 4, Hogni Ragnar arrives at the scene and breaks them off. He charges Syr with murderous intent for plotting against the Goddess Freya's will. Despite knowing their skill differences, Bell Cranel tries his best to defend Syr from Hogni.
Ryu, Anya, and others join Bell at that moment while the Gulliver brothers aid Hogni on the other side. Ryu urges Bell to escape with Syr since they can only buy them a few minutes at minimum. Danmachi season 5 episode 4 showcases a fascinating duel between Ryu and Hogni.
The dark elf demonstrates his cursed blade to overwhelm Ryu while the Gulliver brothers decimate the tavern girls. Anya, injured from the battle, suddenly observes her elder brother, Allen Fromel, at the scene. She begs Allen to spare Syr, who's her family, but he doesn't listen to her plea.
Danmachi season 5 episode 4: Syr's identity and the relationship with Freya
After escaping Hogni and the other Freya Familia members' wrath, Bell Cranel and Syr take shelter in an enclosed space. Syr tells Bell that it's all happening because Goddess Freya has fallen in love with him at first sight. Syr adds that she has submitted to her impulses and made a decision in the face of divine will.
Despite knowing that she won't be spared, she can't help her feelings. She hugs Bell once again, imploring him to accept her feelings. Suddenly, Bell grabs Syr's hands tightly and breaks off. A knife falls from the girl's hands as soon as he does that.
Danmachi season 5 episode 4 reveals that the girl who's with Bell isn't Syr, but an imposter. Bell has known it since he handed over the accessory to her a while ago. Apparently, it's the other half that Bell had with him. Finally, the imposer breaks off her act and shows her true colors.
She accepts her loss and tells Bell the location where the original Syr is waiting for him. Danmachi season 5 episode 4 then cuts to a flashback, where a little girl tells Goddess Freya she wants to become her. She wants to quit being her and become the beautiful and warm person that Freya is.
When Freya asks the girl's name, she says it's Syr. The Goddess accepts the girl's wish. She asks Syr for her identity, and she gives her a new one in exchange. The flashback is cut to the present, where Allen attacks her and calls her Horn.
According to Danmachi season 5 episode 4, Horn's past identity was Syr, which she traded with Freya. In exchange, she receives a spell that lets her transform into Freya and Syr. As a side effect of the spell, Horn shares Freya's psyche.
That's how she knows how much Bell Cranel has an impact on Freya, who is on the verge of losing her allure as a Goddess. She couldn't bear to witness her Goddess' regression, which is why she wanted to end Bell Cranel's life with her own hands. However, she failed.
Danmachi season 5 episode 4 then switches to Bell Cranel, who finally meets Syr, who is originally Freya. He asks Syr why she did it all. Syr explains she wanted to express her feelings of love to Bell.
Initially, she felt she could do with slow-burn romance, but as time passed by, she realized she had to put her feelings on the table. As such, she confesses her genuine feelings to Bell. Unfortunately, Bell doesn't share the same feelings. He politely rejects her emotional confession, even though it tears him from the inside.
After the confession scene, Syr is seen walking listlessly while the rain pours on her. She asks Ottarl to prepare, as she wants to take Bell for herself. Danmachi season 5 episode 4 ends with Syr transforming into Goddess Freya. She discards her Syr persona and resolves to make Bell hers.
