Days with My Stepsister episode 2 recap
The episode begins with Yuta Asamura asking Saki Ayase, his new stepsister, whether she had any trouble with the water he prepared for the bath. The girl assures him saying that it was fine, but implores him not to do it again.
At school, Yuta discovers that inappropriate rumors are going on about Saki Ayase due to her striking appearance. Later, at the ground, Yuta learns that Saki is in the same tennis club as him. She reveals that she joined because her friend is in the club.
At night, Saki asks Yuta whether he knows any part-time job she can join to earn money. She wants to be self-reliant, and not depend on anyone. Yuta assures her that while he doesn't know, he will look into it. Besides, he brings up the ongoing rumors.
However, Saki doesn't pay any heed to those rumors. Following that, they make a deal. Saki says she will prepare dinner for Yuta in exchange for him helping her land a job. That said, the girl wakes up early the next morning to prepare breakfast.
While the fried egg doesn't match Yuta's usual preference, he compliments her. Eventually, the boy asks his co-worker whether she knows about any job openings. He also brings up the topic of self-reliance, to which the girl says it's fine to rely on others at times.
After returning home, Yuta tells Saki about what his co-worker said. However, she still wants to be self-reliant. While she is grateful for what Yuta and his father have done for her, she doesn't want to rely on them for something she can do on her own.
The next day, while walking to school, Yuta notices a truck approaching Saki Ayase on the street. Saki is unable to hear because she has earphones on. Yuta quickly dashes to save his stepsister from a traumatic accident. The episode ends with Yuta reprimanding Saki for not being careful about herself.

What to expect in Days with My Stepsister episode 3? (speculative)
Days with My Stepsister episode 3 will be titled Reflection and Revision. As indicated by the title, the next episode will be about Yuta and Saki, or maybe one of them, learning and reflecting on something they think is right but in reality or wrong. This could be related to how Saki thinks of making quick money.
Moreover, as indicated by the preview trailer, the next episode will again focus on the relationship between Yuta and Saki as they learn about each other. The series 'dark' theme seems to be growing with the passing episode, but there is no telling if this might lead to some questionable encounters. The next episode might be the decider as to what this dark theme wants to portray.
