My Hero Academia chapter 430: How Deku’s role will help society break the “cycle”
The “cycle” of hatred being referred to in this article is the trauma experienced by children with Quirks. Tomura Shigaraki became a villain because of all the trauma he had to endure at a very young age. He was abandoned by his mother and he watched his loved ones die by his own hands. The abuse from his father also molded his mind in a certain manner since he was quite young.
Had these issues been addressed at a younger age, Shigaraki might not have become the villain he was towards the end of the series. Love and professional help could have helped him recover from the traumatic events that he experienced as a child. Such events could have been avoided on a large scale because of Deku’s role, 8 years after the war transpired.
The time skip that was featured in the spoilers showed Deku becoming a teacher at U.A. At this juncture of the story, Deku lost the embers of the One For All Quirk and was truly Quirkless at this point. His guidance will be monumental since he will be shaping the future generation. One of Deku’s greatest strengths is his unwavering sense of justice paired with empathy.
Heroes with Quirks have empathy and do not let success get to their heads. Furthermore, Deku’s gentle nature is ideal for helping children, who are scarred. If someone like Shigaraki had been approached by Deku, he would have had a bright future with the right kind of guidance.
Midoriya is someone who not only understands the responsibility of having powers but also understands how circumstances could alter the life of a person. Deku is the ideal person to mold the future generation, which was the perfect way to end the My Hero Academia manga series.
