With the recent release of My Hero Academia finale, the manga gave fans a look at Deku's fate. While fans may have been disappointed at the start of the chapter, the ending seemed somewhat salvageable as Deku returned to a life of hero-ing due to his friends from Class A.

Izuku Midoriya himself was happy with the gift and immediately joined his friends to become a hero. However, there is one very obvious flaw with Deku's new powers that isn't explored in the manga's finale but could become a major cause for concern as he continues his career, i.e., the development of anti-technology.

My Hero Academia finale fails to address the flaw in Deku's new powers

As seen in the My Hero Academia finale, after losing his One For All Quirk entirely, Deku turns to the life of teaching. He missed being a hero but wanted to use his experience in a helpful way for the new generation of hero aspirants. However, his friends from Class A did not give up on him.

Hence, they worked with All Might to commission a support item for Deku. Just as Quirks themselves grow and deepen, so does technology. Thus, after analyzing the data from the fight between All Might and All For One in the final war, All Might got one of his overseas friends and Mei Hatsume to create a project that would allow Deku to get back to the life of a hero.

With that, Deku spurred back into action alongside his former Class A friends. However, the manga never addressed the very obvious flaw in Deku's new powers. As fans might remember, Eri's Rewind Quirk saw Kai Chisaki creating a Quirk-Destroying Drug to counter any hero who possessed a Quirk. The reason not many villains were able to create such a drug was due to the scarcity of Quirks that worked like Eri's Rewind Quirk.

However, in contrast to Quirks, Deku's new powers were based on technology. Hence, the villains aren't necessarily bound to the existence of a person with a Quirk that could counter him. Instead, all they need to do is get an experienced engineer to work on anti-technology power devices. As All Might himself stated in the My Hero Academia finale, technology had evolved just as Quirks. Hence, there is no reason why such tech cannot be commissioned by villains to stop Deku.

Moreover, there are bound to be more limitations to Deku's new powers based on technology. For example, there is a chance that the technology may need to get charged or go under cool down after a specific amount of use.

While over time such limitations would get countered by Hatsume and others, given how Deku was possibly the first hero who entirely relied on support items, there is a chance that he will go through several such problems that were unforeseen at the time of making.
