My Hero Academia chapter 427 was recently leaked and the bulk of said chapter was focused on a conversation that Deku had with Spinner regarding the final words of Tomura Shigaraki. It was a scene that most of the fandom praised but also led to some people asking why Deku went on his own.

Deku fought with Tomura Shigaraki until the end of the latter's life and it made perfect sense, within the My Hero Academia series, that he didn't want to get others involved in this situation. Other people wouldn't understand why he would give a person like Spinner the time of day but this fit Deku's character, especially after he got a greater insight into Shigaraki's past.

Explaining why it makes sense that Deku visited Spinner on his own in My Hero Academia chapter 427

Spinner was the most loyal member of the League of Villains and the one true friend that Tomura Shigaraki had in the entire series, so it made sense that Deku went on his own to deliver his former ally's last words. Moreover, it was something that only the protagonist could understand and that's why he decided not to get anyone else involved, although, to be fair, that last part is a mere speculation.

Deku heard Shigaraki's final words in the vestige world and, to the rest of the people, the latter was nothing more than a murderous villain, so it's not like they were going to understand his position regarding this. Meanwhile, Deku is known for trying to comprehend his enemies and show empathy, which was at full display during his conversation with Spinner.

There wasn't any other person who could talk with Spinner at the time and was also not a member of the League of Villains, so it was understandable that the protagonist would talk to him. Another connection between these two characters is that Spinner worshipped Stain, to the point of dressing like him, and the latter acknowledged Deku as a true hero.

What could happen in the coming chapters?

Now that My Hero Academia chapter 427 has addressed the conclusion of characters like Spinner and Overhaul, there is a chance of the series dealing with the last remaining antagonists. The story has not fully confirmed what happened to Himiko Toga and there is the mysterious new character that most people have associated with Tomura Shigaraki, although that last part has not been confirmed as of yet.

There are some characters on the heroes' side who would require a conclusion for their story, such as Ochako Uraraka, All Might, and Katsuki Bakugo. It is very likely that author Kohei Horikoshi is going to give these characters a certain degree of focus in the coming chapters. However, other members of the cast also deserve a similar treatment.

Final thoughts

It was the right decision by Horikoshi to have Deku talk with Spinner on his own because of the aforementioned arguments and what has been shown in My Hero Academia. This was a very private moment between these two characters, especially considering their roles in the narrative.
