Based on the light novel series by Daigo Murasaki, the anime follows the story of Demon Lord Veltol, who was slain by Gram the Hero in the war between the mortals and the immortals. 500 years later in 2099, Veltol's loyal subordinate, Machina Soleige, revives him with magic.

Soon after his revival, Veltol seeks to reclaim his throne and rule over Alneath again. However, he discovers that Alneath isn't like the place he used to know. Machina informs the Demon Lord that during his absence, Alneath underwent Fantasion, and merged with a planet called Earth.

The initial years were challenging for the people of Alneath, as civil wars became frequent. However, after many years of revolt, the people of Alneath and Earth decided to coexist.

The Kingdom of Alneath's magic joined with Earth's machinery to create Magineering or Magic Engineering. As such, the anime explores the story of Demon Lord Veltol, who wants to reclaim his identity in 2099's Shinjuku.
