Based on Daigo Murasaki's narrative, the dystopian fantasy anime follows the story of the Veltol Velvet Velsvalt, the villainess Demon Lord of Alneath, who gets slain in the battle by Gram the Hero. After 500 years, his subordinate, Machina Soleige, revives the Demon Lord using magic.

During Veltol's absence, the magical world of Alneath underwent a phenomenon called the Fantasion and merged with 2023's Earth. The catastrophic incident collapsed the national boundaries and created prejudice among the various races. After many years of revolt, Alneath's magic and Earth's industry joined to create magical engineering known as the Magineering.

Amidst all this, Veltol returns in the year 2099, in Shinjuku. Together with his friends, Machina and Takahashi, the Demon Lord wants to regain his status and rule over the world.
