Demon Lord 2099 episode 4 recap

The episode begins with Takahashi inspecting the interior of the storage room with her hacking skill, with the Demon Lord Veltol by her side. She reveals that Veltol needs to steal a small cube from them, a mission she received from her client.

Demon Lord Veltol then enters the storage room by himself and showcases the strength he obtained from his million subscribers' faith. He effortlessly defeats them and feels the coast is clear. Yet, he realizes that another enemy is lurking.

Takahashi shockingly realizes it's a Magino gear, a fourth-generation MG, Ashed Dawn. Interestingly, there are only four available for the special forces of the City Guard, something a regular Yakuza group can never have. Veltol demonstrates his powers but realizes the mecha robot is too tough.

Eventually, the Magino Gear decapacitates Veltol. However, the Demon Lord's immortality helps him regain strength. With renewed energy, he defeats the Magino Gear. Following that, Veltol and Takahashi acquire the small cube. After opening the cube, they find a list of names of Immortals.

Takahashi calls her client Ejyu but they don't respond. So, they head to their office and shockingly discover his corpse. Interestingly, they notice that the killer has damaged the client's Familia. Takahashi then finds a recorded video Ejyu kept hidden.

From the video, Veltol and Takahashi learn that the city's infrastructure is built on Aether Reactor, which runs off the lives of the innocent. Yet, there lies a grave truth. Two lines supply power to the city, and one of them is a furnace where immortals are burned like firewood.

Many people, who knew about this, were killed to cover the truth. Ejyu received intel that the Yakuza guild would sell a list of immortals to the IHMI. He knew that his life would be in danger.

After watching the video, Veltol says he must do something about it, since it's about the Immortals' peril. The episode ends with Veltol looking worried as Machina doesn't pick up his phone call.
