Demon Slayer Hashira Training episode 6, released on June 16, 2024, focused on the training course of Himejima, the Stone Hashira. While the training course was as hard as one could imagine, it brought together two unexpected characters for the sake of their families.

The episode showcased the misery of Tanjiro and Zenitsu as they tried their best to clear Himejima's training course, which mostly consisted of lifting boulders and standing under the intense pressure of the waterfall.

After a whole day of rigorous training, Genya visited Tanjiro, and they had a friendly chat, which they had never had before. Moreover, considering Genya's rowdy nature, the fandom didn't expect such a peaceful moment. This made Genya a fan-favorite character in the series, and some fans even called him the best boy.

During Hashira Training episode 6, Tanjiro fell to the ground after giving up on moving a stone boulder from its place. That's when Genya appeared and surprised Tanjiro. He was inquiring about the mark Tanjiro had on his face, but the protagonist was more interested in knowing why Genya arrived.

After thanking Tanjiro for saving him from his brother, Genya again inquired about the mark. Tanjiro realized that his demon slayer mark had become darker than before. They then discussed their training as they were both assigned to move a boulder. While laughing around about their everyday lives, Genya gave Tanjiro a tip about how to move the boulder.

Tanjiro thanked him, and they parted ways after having their first conversation, which didn't involve Genya getting violent and loud. Fans also appreciated this development and are expecting good things in the future.

As expected, the fandom was happy with how Genya's character suddenly changed after his encounter with Tanjiro. This had fans brand Genya as the best boy of the series. Some fans also claimed Genya to be the best little brother, someone who loved his big brother despite his violent nature.

"I think Genya just became one of my favorite characters in this series. Just seeing him so light now that his brother stuff has just reached it's peak...it's just happier and softer and just a cute little baby brother," another fan claimed.

"Genya is just a little kid who loves n wanna being close with his brother," another one said.

A part of the fandom was also amazed at how Tanjiro's kindness finally reached Genya because, during their previous encounter, Genya was annoyed with Tanjiro's kindness. Fans also called the encounter of these characters in Hashira Training episode 6 "cute" because they were animated in chibi-style.

With the final battle against the Demon King Muzan nearing after every passing episode, it is good to see how Genya is also added to the main forces of skilled demon slayers who could go against the Upper Moon Demons.

The episode also teased the demon slayer mark awakening of Tanjiro and Genya. Still, there is no telling which other rookie demon slayers could awaken it before the Infinity Castle arc starts.
