Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc finale opening events: Muzan meets Ubuyashiki and their past connection is revealed

Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc finale begins where the previous episode ended, with Muzan Kibutsuji infiltrating the Ubuyashiki mansion, confronting Kagaya Ubuyashiki for the first time. Ubuyashiki, who is blind, asks his wife Amane to describe Muzan’s appearance. Upon hearing it, he acknowledges that he always knew Muzan would come to kill him, understanding his rage toward the family.

Muzan expresses disappointment in Ubuyashiki's frail state, but the master explains that his determination to defeat Muzan has kept him alive longer than expected. The Demon King declares he will end Ubuyashiki's dream of defeating him, to which Ubuyashiki responds by revealing that they share the same bloodline. Muzan, indifferent, asks what he is implying.

Ubuyashiki reveals that because their family gave birth to a monster like Muzan, they were cursed, causing their children to be frail and die young. On the brink of extinction, a priest advised them to dedicate themselves to defeating the demon to save their family. They began marrying into priest families, slightly alleviating the curse, but no family member lived beyond 30 years.

Muzan mocks this story, doubting its truth since he has remained unpunished for his wrongdoings over 1,000 years. Ubuyashiki disagrees, asking Muzan about his dream. Muzan feels unexpectedly nostalgic and relieved by the sight of Ubuyashiki’s children. Ubuyashiki guesses Muzan’s dream is immortality, which he confirms, adding it will soon come true once he acquires Nezuko.

Ubuyashiki tells Muzan that his dream won't come true. Muzan notes Ubuyashiki’s certainty about Nezuko’s hiding place, stating that unlike Ubuyashiki, he has time to find her as he approaches the couple. The master tells the Demon King that he misunderstands eternity, explaining that it lies in the feelings and bonds of people.

Muzan dismisses this as ridiculous, but Ubuyashiki points out that the Demon Slayer Corps has persisted for over 1,000 years despite countless deaths, due to their unshakable determination to defeat him, proving his statement. He asserts that if Muzan dies, all demons will perish, and his reaction confirms it.

Ubuyashiki adds that his own death will only strengthen the Corps' resolve, especially the Hashira. As Muzan prepares to strike, Ubuyashiki thanks him for listening.

Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc finale shifts focus as Sanemi and his crow announce a demon attack on the Ubuyashiki mansion. Tanjiro and the Hashira (excluding Himejima) rush towards the master's residence.

The scene shifts to a flashback of the Hashira meeting, where Sanemi suggests leaving at least two Hashira as guards for Ubuyashiki. However, Himejima rejects the idea, explaining that Ubuyashiki has consistently refused protection for years.

Shinobu adds that she's heard that none of the family heads have ever accepted guards. The scene returns to the present as the mansion explodes before the rescue group arrives. Muzan's burning body falls to the ground and starts regenerating, furious at Ubuyashiki for orchestrating the explosion to trap him.

Muzan notes the Hashira gathering around him and senses more traps incoming, acknowledging Ubuyashiki's skill in concealing murderous intent. As Muzan nears the end of his regeneration, he is suddenly ensnared by thorns of Blood Demon Art from exploding flesh seeds.

Confused, he tries to break free and wonders about the user's identity. Tamayo appears and punches him, surprising Muzan. She reveals that the user is someone Muzan turned into a demon in Asakusa. Tamayo also reveals she has a medicine that turns demons into humans in her fist, which Muzan absorbed.

Muzan denies its existence, but Tamayo says she completed it, prompting him to attack her, and he reminds her that she killed her family, not him. Tamayo confesses her regrets and resolves to die alongside Muzan to atone, signaling Himejima to charge.

In Demon Slayer Hashira Training Arc finale, Himejima attacks, smashing Muzan's head. The narrative shifts to a flashback where Himejima recalls his first meeting with Ubuyashiki, who believed in his innocence. In another flashback, Ubuyashiki informed Himejima of Muzan's imminent attack within five days and asked him to use Ubuyashiki as bait to defeat the Demon King.

Himejima pondered the Ubuyashiki family's foresight while the master revealed his plan. Knowing the other Hashira would not agree to risk Ubuyashiki, he entrusted Himejima with the task.

Grateful for his acceptance, Ubuyashiki hoped this plan would save lives. Returning to the present, the flashback reveals Ubuyashiki's foresight that Muzan will not die by severing his head, and only sunlight can kill him.

True to this, Muzan's head begins regenerating. Himejima is amazed by Muzan's strength despite getting blown away and weakened by Tamayo's medicine. He realizes Muzan's regeneration surpasses other demons and resolves to keep him at bay until sunrise. Muzan retaliates with blood whips, but Himejima effortlessly counters them.
