Demon Slayer: Kagaya Ubuyashiki's plan with Tamayo proves he was far more sinister than anyone realized

Kagaya Ubuyashiki from the Demon Slayer series has been receiving a ton of attention from fans. This was due to the contents of the final episode from season 4, which revealed his true character in his final moments. Kagaya was always portrayed as a character who showed nothing but empathy.

It was as though he was incapable of showing anger and rage. But he was just as devious as the other characters in the series. Even in his final moments, he showed resilience, strength, and, more importantly, utter disdain towards Muzan.

This was an emotion that he kept under wraps. However, the interaction that took place between his Kasugai Crow and Tamayo showed just how devious he was in the anime series.

The interaction between Kagaya Ubuyashiki’s Kasugai Crow and Tamayo is an extremely important point in the overall plot. The leader of an organization that vows to destroy demons reached out to one, all in the hopes of gaining an advantage over Muzan. In a war that involves parties that aren’t particularly fighting on a level playing field, the underdogs will tend to use any strategy that they can to gain an upper hand.

Humans have always been inferior to demons when it comes to combat. However, humanity has evolved and created ways to bridge that gap, and that’s how demon hunters have managed to defeat the Three Upper Moon demons so far. This was an incredible feat, and it also marked the beginning of an all-out assault against Muzan.

Similarly, Ubuyashiki found a devious way to gain an advantage over Kibutsuji Muzan, and that’s when he reached out to Tamayo. He reached out to a demon who was well-versed in botany. She also managed to help Nezuko revert to her human self. Additionally, she knew Muzan’s weaknesses simply because of how long she had been in this world. Ubuyashiki wanted to take Tamayo’s help to kill the Demon King.

He also didn’t hesitate to make Shinobu Kocho work with a demon, despite being fully aware of her past and her hatred towards demons. Shinobu lost her older sister to a demon, and ever since, she has bottled up a lot of rage within her. While she smiles and maintains a calm demeanor, there is a lot of unresolved hatred within her. Kagaya Ubuyashiki is exceptionally good at reading people, and it was obvious that he was aware of her feelings towards demons.

The leader of the Demon Slayer Corps didn’t seem to hesitate, even for a second, when he asked the Insect Hashira to work with Tamayo. The sheer extent to which Ubuyashiki was willing to go in order to kill Muzan is terrifying. He also sacrificed himself and planted explosives in his living quarters.

His two children and his wife died with him. He was fully aware that the explosives would barely do any damage. But he went ahead and sacrificed his life, knowing that it would give the demon hunters just enough time to launch an attack.
