The Demon Slayer series is one of the most popular shonen animanga titles. There are plenty of elements in the series that bear a resemblance to other popular works of fiction. Some fans have reasons to believe the series has taken inspiration from the popular cult classic, Star Wars.

Various discussions take place on forums like Reddit, and one such discussion has highlighted a potential connection between the two famous works. Fans believe that the battle between two of the most prominent Star Wars characters (Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader) can be looked at as a parallel to a fight involving Hashira and the Upper Moon 1 demon.

A Reddit user named _DCtheTall_ has brought up the potential connection between the two series into discussion. The fight between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker is one of the most legendary pop culture moments of all time, as it marks a crucial point in the narrative.

In this sequence, Darth Vader reveals to Luke Skywalker that he is his father. The dialogue revealing his relation to Luke Skywalker is also one of the most iconic lines from the movie. This is a fight between father and son - one who stays on the righteous path, while the other joins the dark side.

Meanwhile, the Tsukiguni family bears a certain degree of resemblance to the aforementioned characters. Michikatsu Tsukiguni is a talented swordsman, but he could never reach the level that his brother attained. Therefore, he then joins Kibutsuji Muzan and becomes an Upper Moon demon.

While Muichiro Tokito (the Mist Hashira) isn’t Michikatsu’s son, he happens to be his only descendant. The lightsaber that Luke Skywalker uses is blue in color, which is quite similar to the color of the blade that Muichiro wields in the series.

Another interesting parallel is that both Kokushibo (Michikatsu’s demon name) and Darth Vader show signs of regret after acknowledging their actions. Both take steep measures and morph into versions of themselves that they can't even recognize.

Their connection appears to extend beyond the fight. Muzan takes advantage of Kokushibo because he knows that the latter seeks powers to surpass his brother. Similarly, Palpatine from Star Wars takes advantage of Anakin, because he knows that the latter fears the loss of his wife.

These are some striking similarities that make fans wonder if these characters could be inspired by the Star Wars series. While it is an interesting parallel, the manga author has not provided any comments on the same. Therefore, it is important to note that this particular discussion is a fan theory that is yet to be confirmed by the official sources.
