The Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 review has been quite positive overall. The episode was released on June 16, 2024, and Ufotable appears to have done a splendid job with the animation. The animation studio received many complaints from fans due to the previous episode. The fifth episode was lackluster, and the studio failed to showcase its creativity despite having the potential to do so.

The previous episode had no interesting anime-original scenes and failed to give Mitsuri Kanroji the screen time she deserved. In episode 6, there were plenty of interesting anime-only scenes, and all the characters received equal screen time.

For a series known for faithfully adapting the source material, this season has given fans more anime-original content than canonical. This was a surprising decision that Ufotable took, and it certainly was a gamble. However, the studio thoroughly understood the source material and implemented anime-only scenes that captured the essence of the series. It was nothing short of incredible since it seamlessly ebbed and flowed with the canonical contents.

The conversations between Genya Shinazugawa and Tanjiro in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 were entertaining. Furthermore, it gave Genya another dimension to his character instead of reducing him to a trope many Shonen animanga series use. The studio also incorporated humor by involving Zenitsu in this equation. His reactions to the training regime were over-the-top, and watching his soul leave his body every time he trains is something the fanbase loves.

The boulder training was perfect since it showed that Tanjiro's training provided results. He managed to activate the Demon Slayer Mark briefly, hinting at his potential growth in the series' future.

The Hashira Training arc doesn’t particularly have much action since there are no antagonists in this section of the story. Therefore, the series relies on character interactions to drive the plot forward. This episode is a brilliant example of how characters and their interaction can drive the narrative. The first half of the episode laid great emphasis on humor by involving Zenitsu Agatsuma.

He cannot tolerate Tanjiro Kamado’s constant positivity and often gives him an earful during challenging times. Gyomei Himejima’s training routine was quite harsh, testing the limits of human strength. The execution of the anime-original scenes involving Zenitsu’s struggles was perfect.

The second half of the episode focused on Genya. His interactions with Tanjiro were quite wholesome, and fans loved every second of them. It felt like Genya was opening up to Tanjiro, which is a part of his character development.

Due to the lack of an antagonist in this story arc, fans can easily get carried away by the current tone and atmosphere. Currently, things seem lighthearted, and the anime has taken a slice-of-life route. This is because the source material decided to cover the contents of a short training camp that the Hashiras hosted. While the comedic elements are enjoyable, fans must not forget the big picture.

Ufotable brought back Nakime and Kibutsuji Muzan in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 to remind fans that the demons weren’t particularly resting either. They are preparing for an all-out war, and Muzan is close to getting his hands on Nezuko Kamado — the only demon that conquered the sun. He plans to capture Nezuko to study her blood and become immune to the sun, which would make him truly immortal.

Giving Muzan some screen time helped fans realize what’s at stake for the demon hunters and why they are preparing in the first place.

All in all, Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 was a splendid watch. Fans were not disappointed with the way Ufotable handled the episode. Now, the expectations are over the roof for the next episode since fans anxiously await more to know about Gyomei Himejima’s backstory.

The viewers want to know more about the strongest demon hunter in the organization and understand the circumstances that pushed him to become a demon hunter. The overall art style and the animation quality were top-notch, showcasing the studio’s ability to stay consistent from the series’ inception.
