With the premiere of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7, the anime series finished the storyline encapsulating the Hashira Training Arc. This time, Tanjiro completed the third stage of Himejima's training and got to learn about Stone Hashira's tragic past. Elsewhere, Muzan Kibutsuji located Ubuyashiki and confronted him.

As fans would know, the Hashira Training Arc is only nine chapters long. Hence, to adapt the story arc into an anime season, animation studio Ufotable has been adding additional scenes to increase its runtime. The same was observed in the anime's latest episode.

Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7: What are the differences between anime and manga?

Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 revealed Gyomei Himejima's past. However, unlike the manga which only showed fans a glimpse of Himejima and the orphans' life at the temple, the anime gave fans a good look at their character dynamics.

This included a scene that saw the youngest girl Sayo offer her fish to Himejima to help him put on some weight. Nevertheless, Himejima rejected the offer, stating that his training helped him not be bothered by hunger.

Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 saw Tanjiro Kamado and Inosuke Hashibira having lunch together with Genya Shinazugawa. While the anime near-perfectly adapted the scene from the manga, Ufotable added one extra scene.

During their meal, after Inosuke finished eating his fish, he immediately went for Zenitsu's fish. Fortunately, Tanjiro managed to stop him in time. While this scene wasn't necessary, it helped bring some fluidity to the events. After Zenitsu's demeanor changed, he didn't come to eat his meal with everyone. Hence, it made sense for the anime to show Tanjiro saving his food and bringing it to him later.

Sanemi Shinazugawa's tantrum in the anime was changed

After Tanjiro Kamado interrupted Sanemi Shinazugawa's training with Giyu Tomioka, he was left irritated and left Tomioka's residence. Right after, he began looking for Muichiro Tokito and Iguro Obanai, however, both Hashira weren't available for training. This development wasn't present in the manga and is an anime-original event.

As for the manga, it only showed Sanemi feeling irritated due to Tanjiro and him successfully catching Nakime's eye which had been spying on the Demon Slayer Corps.

Muzan Kibutsuji's confrontation with Kagaya Ubuyashiki was extended in the anime

The end of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 sees Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji confronting the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps Kagaya Ubuyashiki. However, unlike the manga that saw Muzan approaching the Ubuyashiki Mansion out of nowhere in just one manga panel, the anime extended it by a lot.

It must be shocking for fans to learn that the scene which saw Muzan Kibutsuji walk toward the Ubuyashuki Mansion window was extended to around 3 minutes and 20 seconds of runtime in the anime. All that happened during the scene was Muzan walking toward the mansion in slow motion amidst a fog.
