Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 was an incredibly entertaining episode to watch with an extended runtime. Ufotable flexed its creative muscles once again, and the timing was perfect since we also got to see Gyomei Himejima’s backstory. Aside from that, fans also enjoyed certain fan interactions which made it quite entertaining to watch.
Another thing that stood out in the episode was the screen time that Muzan received. Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 review: Top-tier animation on display, once again
Ufotable has undoubtedly set the bar when animating their series. It is exceptionally hard to create such beautiful visuals, and it’s even harder to maintain them consistently. Ufotable has done just that, and the anime-original scenes involving Gyomei Himejima and Kaigaku were done incredibly well.
It gave the Stone Hashira another dimension to his character. He was already known for being quite kind. However, Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 showcased an edge to Gyomei that he has hidden rather remarkably.
Another area where the animation stood out was the final scene of the episode. The animation showcasing Kibutsuji Muzan approaching an already-dying Kagaya Ubuyashiki sent shivers down viewers’ spines.
It was quite menacing, and the manner in which Ufotable captured Muzan’s nefarious aura was immaculate. The animation included a variety of angles, which ensured that something as mundane as walking managed to capture the audience’s attention.
Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 review: A point of no return
While the animation was incredible, the studio also did a phenomenal job in giving Muzan screen time towards the end of Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7. The entire season had a tone that could compared to slice-of-life titles since the current story arc didn't particularly have much action.
When that is the case, it can negatively impact the role of an antagonist as well as the impact it has on the entire story. Muzan and his legion weren’t really a concern since the anime focused on demon hunters training to become better swordsmen. However, the manner in which they portrayed Muzan while he walked towards Kagaya Ubuyashiki was a masterstroke.
Suddenly, the stakes are higher than they were ever before, and the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps’ life is currently in danger. The latest episode showed viewers that the series has reached a point of no return and that the demon hunters will have to put everything on the line to defeat the Demon King.
Demon Slayer season 4 episode 7 review: Efficient utilization of character interactions
The character interaction that took place between Tanjiro and Gyomei was quite heartwarming to watch. The Stone Hashira has a soft spot for Tanjiro since he believes in Tanjiro’s pure heart. He acknowledged his good intentions and honesty, which earned the respect of the strongest demon hunter in the organization.
Furthermore, the humor arising from the interactions between Tanjiro and Sanemi Shinazugawa was thoroughly enjoyable. The humor that the series has developed is quite unique, and it almost always hinges on character interactions. Ufotable, once again, nailed this section of the adaptation and put out an episode of the highest quality.
Conclusion
The animation quality stood out in the recent episode. However, the animation also improved the impact that the individual scenes had on the overall story. The animation elevated the impact of the scenes involving Muzan and Gyomei Himejima. Overall, it was an exceptionally entertaining episode to watch, and fans are excited to see how the current story arc would conclude.
