Demon Slayer season 4 was nothing short of success despite the turbulence faced in the previous season. The third season was rather lackluster and there wasn’t much that fans could particularly enjoy. However, the fourth season smashed it out of the park and Ufotable flexed its creative muscles to showcase its true potential.

The concluding episode of Demon Slayer season 4 was quite enjoyable since it had plenty of elements that fans could enjoy. However, those who have read the manga have reason to believe the final episode was laced with some of the biggest Infinity Castle spoilers.

Let’s understand why this is the case and how Ufotable could have been cryptic in its approach to show the fate of the demon hunters.

Disclaimer: This article contains massive spoilers from the manga chapters of the Demon Slayer series.

Demon Slayer season 4: How the final episode could have given fans massive Infinity Castle arc spoilers

Fans who have read the manga know that not all demon hunters are alive by the end of the series, while those who have watched the anime are unaware of this since only one Hashira has died so far, Kyojuro Rengoku. Plenty more demon slayers will fall suit as they face off against some of the strongest Upper Moon demons in the series.

Fans believe that the clues lie in the concluding scene of episode 8, where we can see demon hunters being caught in Nakime’s traps. Nakime is the Biwa demon who controls the Infinity Castle. With her help, Muzan managed to lure and trap a good chunk of the Demon Slayer Corps.

There is a very subtle change in the color grading for the animation sequence for various characters. If we look at characters like Zenitsu Agatsuma, Tanjiro Kamado, and Inosuke Hashibira, there is a very distinct clear yellow-dominating color grading utilized in that shot. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case for other characters.

On the other hand, there is a tinge of red in the background of Genya Shinazugawa's fall. The same pattern of red-colored glow in the background can be observed in Demon Slayer season 4 episode 8 when Shinobu Kocho was falling.

When showcasing Sanemi and Giyu Tomioka’s fall, the color grading features a yellow glow, which once again shows how Ufotable could have potentially given fans some of the biggest Infinity Castle spoilers in the final episode of the season.

While these are subtle clues and hints that Ufotable could have added in the episode, there is no confirmation on whether or not they were intentional. The officials have not confirmed whether Ufotable laid these easter eggs. However, it is worth acknowledging a potential attempt in a cryptic message being delivered, something many animation studios take pleasure in doing.

While some fans are skeptical, there seem to be a couple of striking differences in the visuals, which have caught the viewers' attention.

Stay tuned for more anime and manga news as 2024 progresses.
