Since Demon Slayer ended, fans of the series have been wanting more. For those who follow the anime, there is a story based on the Infinity Castle Arc for them to see, while those who read the manga, have nothing but prayers and wishes for a sequel or a prequel. While it is unclear whether a sequel or prequel would be made, what story would it tell if one was made?

Some fans have called for a Demon Slayer prequel to be made. A story that focuses on the early days of the Demon Slayer corps, which would be a good angle to follow. Other fans are asking for a sequel where demons rise again, which will be an amazing story.

While the possibility of a prequel or sequel is not high, fans are not allowed to stop dreaming or wanting these things. Here are all the angles that a Demon Slayer sequel could cover.

Demons not created with Muzan’s blood and not killed by a Demon Slayer

In Demon Slayer, the origin of Demons is mostly tied to Muzan. He was the first Demon and it is true his blood that most humans turn to Demons. While it is true in most cases, there are some instances in the Demon Slayer world, that Muzan’s blood didn’t transform a human into a Demon.

This instance involves members of the Twelve Kizuki, the most powerful Demons in the series who follow the command of Muzan Kibutsuji. Due to them having large concentrations of Muzan’s blood and all the perks that come with it, they can freely transform any human they want into a Demon.

In the Mugen Train arc, Akaza offers the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, a chance to become a demon, which the Hasira declines.

In the Infinity Castle Arc, various Demons are revealed to not be progenies of Muzan. Kaizaku is a progeny of the Upper-Rank One of the Twelve Kizuki, Kokushibo. There are also Gyautaro and Daki, who were transformed by Doma, an Upper-Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki.

Demons with Muzan’s blood all died after Muzan was killed, but those without his direct blood survived. Yushiro is an example of a character that survived after Muzan’s death. He was turned into a Demon by Tamayo, which means he is far removed from the effects of Muzan’s death.

If a high-ranking Demon survived Muzan’s death, there is a slight possibility that they could turn other humans into Demons and that would be the setting of a possible sequel.

Even though the Demon Slayer corps are set to be disbanded at the end of the series, these sequels could be one last fight to unite the crew of Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Inosuke.

Muzan might be the key to the demons returning

Muzan was shown to be a genius committed to learning new things and experimenting in various fields. At some point, he is shown to be practicing with chemicals, and at another point, he is shown to showcase interest in new technology.

The chance of Muzan storing information about how he became a Demon is not far-fetched, and the chance of that information falling into the hands of another human is not unlikely.

The Blue Lily Plant is seldom talked about in the series. If Muzan had possession of the Blue Lily Plant, he would have been truly immortal. If the Blue Lily Plant is found by a human with possession of Muzan’s knowledge, the Demon Slayer world would be shaken up.

Final thoughts

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular manga/anime out there. A huge bulk of this can be summed up to its easy plot and simple characters, another aspect that makes is its action sequences. Those who viewed the anime were blessed with unique and vibrant colors that many anime struggle to match.

With the anime and manga over, fans are still yearning for the magic of Koyoharu Gotouge’s world. Many famous manga and animes like Death Note and The Fable have had their prequels and sequels. These spin-offs satisfy the curiosity of fans who want more, while some give fans a more detailed ending.
