Who is Katsumata in 20th Century Boys?

Source: CBR

Katsumata is one of the main antagonists in the series 20th Century Boys and is the friend of Fukubei's other main antagonists. He hates Kenji Endo, the main protagonist of the series and leader of the Kenju’s Group, because, during his childhood, Kenji stole a prize from a local candy shop and blamed Katsumata.

The shopkeeper of the candy shop shouted at him in front of his former schoolmates, made him go into depression, and started hating Kenji. He acted like he had died, which made him think that he had died, but in reality, he kept on seeing Kenji and the human world from a distance. After some time, he joined the group of Fukubei, who wanted to destroy the world as he used his power to let things happen as he wished too, but in the end, he was killed in the battle against Kenji.

What is Katsumata Power in 20th Century Boys?

Katsumata's powers are primarily precognitive, meaning he can see glimpses of the future. This ability is hinted at early in the series when he seems to predict specific events, such as the Friend's appearance.

His precognition allows him to plan and manipulate events to his advantage. He uses this power to influence the actions of others and to ensure that his plans for destruction unfold as he intends. It's important to note that while Katsumata's powers are significant, they are not infallible.
