Bleach and Attack on Titan fans went to war on X because the latter claimed that their favorite series had the best soundtrack in anime history. That is a bold statement regardless of the series and fans of author Tite Kubo's story, in particular, went on to bat for the Studio Pierrot adaptation, which has become quite known for its amazing soundtrack.

It is fair to say that both Bleach and Attack on Titan have valid claims regarding their series having the best soundtrack in the medium's history. Both series have been celebrated for a wide variety of reasons and the soundtrack is one of them, although is fair to say that music is very subjective, so it depends on people's preference, of course.

Attack on Titan and Bleach go to war over which series has the best soundtrack

An Attack on Titan fan on X claimed that this series has the best soundtrack in anime history, with a lot of like-minded people joining and agreeing with this take. However, there were fans of other series stepping in to debate this opinion, with the Bleach ones being the most vocal about it.

It makes a lot of sense when considering that the Studio Pierrot adaptation of author Tite Kubo's manga has always been praised for its soundtrack, even among those who perhaps are not too fond of this anime. A good example of that is the "Number One" track, which has become a trademark element of this anime and has become one of the most iconic songs in the entire medium.

Furthermore, while is fair to say that Attack on Titan has a lot of soundtracks and songs that deserve a lot of praise, Kubo's series also has several strong moments. There is also the influence of different countries, such as Spanish music, which is displayed in the classic "Clavar La Espada" song, nowadays an underrated classic in the anime medium.

Reactions online

There have been a lot of comparisons of Bleach and Attack on Titan with other series, so a confrontation of this ilk was always bound to happen. That is something that has taken place time and time again throughout the years, with people oftentimes discussing several aspects of their favorite series, even if it leads to some extreme moments.

A section of the fandom of Mangaka Hajime Isayama's story has become known for being quite extreme, especially when it comes to the ending of the series. On the other hand, the same can be said for fans of Kubo's work, although this case can be a reaction to how much criticism and trolling they have received for so many years.

"AoT wishes it had music half as good as BLEACH," someone said.
"Treachery sosuke aizen theme clears AOT titan theme," another person said.
"For this I completely agree Bleach ost >aot ost," someone else said.

Naturally, this isn't a comparison between the two series in terms of storytelling, fight scenes, art, or anything of the sort. In a way, it can be argued that this comparison is even a lot more subjective since the music made by Studio MAPPA and Studio Pierrot is up to each person's preference.

"People gotta stop acting like before Aot there were no good ost's for animes it's really irritating," someone said.
"I’m not saying AOT soundtrack is bad but it has a certain identity that all of its tracks share. Shiro Sagisu on the other hand is able to make those grand epic tracks when need be while also making tracks like this, he’s in a class of his own imho," another person said.

It is also worth pointing out that while Attack on Titan and Bleach have great soundtracks, there are other prominent examples in modern anime and even more so in older classics, such as Saint Seiya and Fist of the North Star, that don't get a lot of recognition. But that is up to every person's personal preference.
