272 chapters in, and Blue Lock is nearing the culmination of the most anticipated match-up of the Neo Egosit League. With Bastard Munchen and PXG boasting some of the league's best players, these two sides locking horns was a contest everyone was eager to witness.

Needless to say, it has not at all disappointed fans so far. Each of the teams' aces have stepped up and shown their mettle. In this particular case, considering how recent events have unfolded, many have been left wondering if Isagi's awakening has taken him past Rin, an opponent he endeavored to catch up to.

Presently, Isagi has not yet surpassed Rin, but rather, the two are on the same level with the smallest of margins separating them.

Blue Lock: Isagi's awakening puts him in a deadlock with Rin and Kaiser

To put it simply, Isagi's recent awakening allowed him to surpass Rin for a brief period where he was absolutely unplayable. However, after witnessing even Michael Kaiser ascend to a new level, Rin was compelled to evolve and unleash his Ego, which brought him on par with the other two Bastard Munchen players.

Given the current state of Blue Lock, the trio are locked in an intense deadlock. Such a situation was kicked off by Isagi himself, with the boy's focus on surpassing both Kaiser and Rin pushing him to unleash his "Top Performance." Following suit, Kaiser too ascended, abandoning his old style of play for a completely different one.

In all this, Rin felt overwhelmed and attempted to tap into his "Berserker State", the same one he had awakened during the Japan U-20s match. So, this proves that Isagi did not completely surpass Rin with his new awakening. Rather, he went a few steps ahead for a brief period before the green-haired striker caught up. However, there may be a few points where Isagi has actually overtaken Rin this time.

In terms of game-reading and spatial awareness, Isagi is a step ahead of Rin. His awakening allowed him to further his Metavision and gain an even greater view of the field. Moreover, it allowed him to predict opponents' moves, which is why he can keep up with Kaiser and Rin in the above-mentioned deadlock.

To reiterate, Isagi Yoichi has not yet surpassed Rin Itoshi despite his latest awakening. Rather, the former took a few steps ahead but was quickly caught up by Rin.
