The entry of the Evil Eye in Dandadan anime was teased with the final episode, and fans want to know more about this evil spirit. The evil spirit was a little boy who was sacrificed in the past. After dying, the Evil Eye returned to the human world as a spirit and started haunting Jiji. The spirit eventually possessed him and planned on using his body to kill the entire humanity.

Sadly, Jiji never gets control over the Evil Eye. During the Cursed House arc, the Evil Eye convinced Jiji to submit and possessed his body. From here onwards, it fought Okarun and eventually lost. Afterward, during a ritual, Seiko discovered that the spirit could be suppressed using hot water and triggered using cold water. However, Jiji has no control over it.

Dandadan: How did the Evil Eye possess Jiji?

While the Evil Eye might seem like a horrid creature, it was a little boy when it was alive and belonged to the Kito family, which lived inside the Tsuchinoko sacrificial house. As expected, the family was to sacrifice their son to pacify the Tsuchinoko worm, and they entrapped the young boy inside a cage until he passed away.

During his lifetime, the boy desired to play with others. After many years, the young boy appeared inside the Tsuchinoko sacrificial house as the Evil Eye. It was only visible to Jiji, whose family was the current resident of this house.

The evil spirit drove Jiji insane and after numerous spirit mediums committed suicide while failing to exorcise the Evil Eye, Jiji requested Seiko. Seiko then sent Okarun and Momo to Jiji's house.

However, the protagonists were entangled with the issues of the Tsuchinoko and during this time, the Evil Eye convinced Jiji into submission. The evil spirit then awakened inside Jiji and claimed to kill the entire humanity (as it had a grudge against his parents—humans—who sacrificed him).

After getting possessed by the Evil Eye in the Cursed House arc of Dandadan, Jiji lost control of his body. The first person the evil spirit encountered was Okarun. These two engaged in a heated battle, during which the Evil Eye completely dominated. During their last exchange of fists, the evil spirit boasted before Okarun and claimed to torture Momo to death.

This angered Okarun to the point that he displayed some moves that the evil spirit couldn't predict. This resulted in his defeat and Jiji's body was taken back to the Ayase household. Jiji's body was then exorcised by Momo, Seiko, and the latter's apprentice. However, they couldn't exorcise the evil spirit from Jiji's body.

Luckily, hot water splashed onto Jiji, and he reverted to his human body. After a few experiments, Seiko discovered that hot water suppressed Jiji's Evil Eye form and cold water triggered it. So, from that point, the protagonist group started carrying hot water inside a thermos to suppress Jiji's Evil Eye transformation because he had no control over it.
