After losing his arm, Rudeus performed an advanced Saint-ranked healing magic called Shine-Healing, but it wasn’t effective enough to regrow an entire severed arm. Rudeus knew his healing magic wasn’t dominant enough to do the impossible. However, that doesn’t mean that the protagonist remained with just his right arm his entire life.

Further in the storyline of the original light novel series, which is way ahead of the anime currently, Rudeus regrows his arm with Orsted’s King Class Healing. It has been mentioned in the storyline that the second encounter with Orsted led Rudeus to lose his right arm too, but the former helped him regain both of his his limbs.

However, this occurs much later in the storyline, and in the meantime, he receives a prosthetic left hand that not only aids him in the battle but also comes in handy in doing the basic functions. The hand is created by Zanoba and Cliff, who made it out of Zariff’s Prosthetic Arm, the doll that was left by the previous owner of Rudeus’ house.

While creating the artificial arm, Zanoba and Cliff tweak it with stones recovered from the Manalite Hydra. This grants him the ability to negate any magic-based attacks as the creature did in Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2 episode 22.

However, to activate Zariff’s prosthetic arm, Rudeus has to spell “Oh Earth, become thine Arm” and deactivate it with “Oh Arm, return to Earth.” The new equipment also gives Rudeus an unparalleled advantage on a battlefield, where besides canceling out magic attacks, it can also restrain physical attacks like Zanoba’s Miko Power: Super Strength and fly out as Rocket Punch.

Despite that, Rudeus eventually regrows his arms and continues to use the equipment as gauntlets for each of his arms, giving him an edge in combat. Nevertheless, the gauntlets don’t stay long as they get eventually replaced by the Black Magic Armor, an even dominant version of the equipment.
