Jujutsu Kaisen has many memorable characters, with Yuji being one of the most prominent characters in the entire series. While Yuji started the story on an ominous note with his execution being ordered, Gojo indefinitely postponed his execution, thus preventing an untimely death for the protagonist.
The story ended on September 29, 2024, leaving many with the question, "Does Yuji Itadori survive in the end?" While many fans expected Yuji to perish alongside Sukuna to tie up their characters and storylines, the story ended with Yuji surviving after defeating Sukuna. There has been no announcement of Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2 for now, but an announcement might be revealed with the next season of the anime.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji Itadori's current status
Yuji Itadori made his proper debut in the series after ingesting one of Sukuna's fingers, thus reincarnating Sukuna into the current era. While Sukuna swiftly managed to take control of Yuji's body for a few moments, Yuji eventually reclaimed his body and began somewhat coexisting with Sukuna.
Sukuna and Yuji's characters continued to establish themselves as polar opposites of each other. Sukuna found no value in his own existence while also refusing to acknowledge the value of other humans, whereas Yuji recognized the value of every single entity, including Sukuna himself. Yuji's savior complex, along with his obsession with Sukuna's demise, led many fans to believe that Yuji would die alongside Sukuna while freeing Megumi in the process.
This would have also fulfilled Yuji's grandfather's dying words, telling him to have people around him when he died. While Yuji came closer to death than ever during his fight against Sukuna, the battle ended with Yuji scraping Sukuna off of Megumi's body, and Sukuna facing his demise after acknowledging Yuji. Gege Akutami had previously confirmed in interviews that, out of Yuji, Megumi, Nobara, and Gojo, only one would either die or survive.
Ultimately, only Gojo died permanently during the fight, and the entire original cast, including Yuji, remained alive. Yuji was still enrolled at Tokyo Jujutsu High at the end of the story in Chapter 271. Given that he faced Sukuna directly in hand-to-hand combat and landed multiple Black Flashes, he may be one of the few sorcerers left who can be compared to the likes of Satoru Gojo in any shape or form.
Yuji currently has access to Sukuna's Shrine, Reverse Cursed Technique, Blood Manipulation, Domain Expansion, and has the ability to easily form Binding Vows, similar to how Sukuna did throughout his fight. All of these combined make Yuji one of the strongest sorcerers in existence.
Final Thoughts
Jujutsu Kaisen ending had no confirmation of a Part 2 or spin-off. While the ending of the series became one of the most debated and divisive endings to emerge from the shonen genre in recent times, it did manage to conclude the story on a rather happy note while setting up possible plot points for the future. It is possible that a Part 2 or spin-off will be announced alongside the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, which is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
