"Don't ya'll ever compare"- Jujutsu Kaisen fans take a dig at Demon Slayer fandom as they rate Sukuna's conclusion above Muzan

Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer fans seem to be at war with each other on X (formerly known as Twitter) after Gege Akutami’s manga is on the verge of concluding the series. The manner in which the series concluded and how it decided Sukuna’s fate, provided an opportunity for the Demon Slayer fans to provide their thoughts on it.

However, Jujutsu Kaisen fans didn’t like their series being compared to Demon Slayer and they found it insulting. In fact, think that Sukuna was a far better villain in comparison to Muzan, which seemed to irk the other fanbase.

Whether or not Sukuna was a better villain was up for debate. However, the slander from both fanbases led to the JJK fans spamming phrases like “don’t ya’ll ever compare” in the comments section.

Why are Jujutsu Kaisen fans upset with Sukuna being compared with Muzan from Demon Slayer?

Gege Akutami’s magnum opus might be quite popular, but, how the manga concluded was far from ideal. Furthermore, Sukuna as a villain isn’t particularly great either and there are plenty of better examples in the shonen category. That being said, he isn’t a terrible villain and he plays his part well in the manga.

Fans of the series believe that Muzan is a terrible antagonist. While this might be up for debate, it is important to understand that he held on to his values till his last breath. He stayed evil till the very end and clung to his ideals with no hesitation. He was inherently evil, and he died that way. Despite that, the JJK fanbase was quite upset that Sukuna was compared with Muzan. They believe that Muzan is objectively a terrible antagonist.

Another reason why the fanbase was upset was the comparison of the character’s treatment in the respective manga. They believed that Sukuna’s death in the manga was executed a lot better in comparison to Muzan’s death in Koyoharu Gotouge’s work.

"Fax finally some who understand these are 2 different stories with 2 different characters. Muzan down right for the role he play his goals and just what he is makes this perfect for him. Sukuna's ending could have been better ngl but i give it a solid 9 it fits the character," said one fan.

"Neither is really that ‘deep’ but they’re both satisfying ends to these characters," said another fan.

It's clear that there are members of the anime and manga community who can enjoy various titles without having to slander the other. They pointed out that the respective characters fit their roles in their own stories and that comparing them doesn't make sense. Their actions were fuelled by motivations that were unique to them.

"Muzan way better lol," said one fan.

"One got turned into a big baby, the other got humbled hard so he changed and grew as a person," said another.

"Ah yes, a debate to settle who would sit at the top of the C tier on a villain tier list," said one netizen.

Meanwhile, some netizens realized that both Sukuna and Muzan weren't great villains. Comparing them was a waste of their time since they would prefer comparing better antagonists from other popular titles. However, some believed that Muzan was better, while some believed that Sukuna was better. It's clear that shonen anime fanbases are getting out of hand with their heated debates and this is a clear example.
