With the release of the initial spoilers for chapter 1118 of author and illustrator Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga series, fans seemingly heard Dr. Vegapunk’s entire message. While the chapter 1118 spoilers tease the broadcast restarting briefly, it’s unlikely that it fully resumes and reveal any more significant information.

One Piece fans are excitedly digging into the full transcript of Dr. Vegapunk’s entire message thus far, searching to see if there’s anything of significance or importance they missed. Thankfully, there are a few major revelations and sections of his message that are worth discussing and emphasizing.

Dr. Vegapunk’s full message transcript in One Piece

In One Piece’s Egghead arc, Dr. Vegapunk’s entire message begins shortly after his death. It first emphasizes that he has committed two sins and that he can’t judge either side as good or evil based on the information he has before revealing the following:

“The world as we know it will sink into the sea. Now, speaking of the near future for me, assuming that the sensors I built are functioning correctly, there should be a most remarkable earthquake that strikes the entire planet. As a result of that, the sea should rise about one meter around the world, rendering some islands uninhabitable. Beaches around the world will be lost for good.”

It's made clear that this earthquake isn’t a natural phenomenon and is asserted to instead be the result of Dr. Vegapunk's first sin, his pursuit of endless eternal energy.

Dr. Vegapunk's second sin is revealed to be researching the Ponegylphs, with him alluding to having done so as a result of and to honor the Oharan scholars killed in a genocide for these crimes. However, this allowed him to confirm part of the story of the Void Century as a result, addressing the period’s “main character” and describing him:

“Born into a kingdom with an impossibly advanced civilization, 900 years ago. Like the Sun God Nika spoken of in Elbaf legend, he fought with a body that stretched and contracted. His Name was Joyboy. And he was the very first man on this sea to be called a pirate. But as for why he was called a pirate, I have only read from a handful of Poneglyphs."
"But what I found there was a record of a breathtakingly vast war. Joyboy’s enemy was the World Government of the present day. More accurately, it was the precursor to the World Government, a provisional army put together by 20 kingdoms known as The Alliance," it continues.

Essentially, the Alliance had no other choice given how powerful Joyboy and his allies were. Similarly, it's unclear who was right or wrong in the war, but Dr. Vegapunk confirms it was a battle of ideologies that used weapons so technologically advanced that even he can’t recreate them.

This is the major problem since the Void Century ended with Joyboy’s defeat, leaving “scars of war” across the world.

It's then revealed that the layout of One Piece's island-filled world didn't apply to the world of the Void Century. This is due to a cataclysm that occurred during the Void Century, which caused the world to sink, with Dr. Vegapunk asserting:

“We are currently living on the pieces of a continent that existed long ago! The world of a millennium ago now slumbers unseen at the bottom of the sea. In fact, one can assume that in the past, there were a number of continents we know nothing about.”

This change in One Piece’s world by the Void Century War's victors is then confirmed as having been necessary for them to hide that 100-year period that became the Void Century. It’s also confirmed that the sea level rose 200 meters during that century, with Dr. Vegapunk asserting that this rise in sea level was not a natural phenomenon.

“The ancient weapons that sank the world into the sea 800 years ago still exist today, and await the moment that they stir once again! In other words, the vast war that arose during the Void Century never came to an end!”

The final leg of this revelatory One Piece message sees Dr. Vegapunk elaborate on his first sin as the creation of the Mother Flame, which was then stolen to power an ancient weapon. In turn, this ancient weapon was used to destroy the Kingdom of Lulusia.

The series' world then learns that the Roger Pirates discovered the truth but didn’t act and that Joyboy wanted to pass the ancient weapons down. Dr. Vegapunk's entire message then finally reaches its last leg, which unfortunately has yet to be completed even with chapter 1118's spoilers:

“Lastly, I have one final message to impart. To those scattered throughout the world who bear the name of D., within you there is a… the/that name is…”

What Dr. Vegapunk’s entire message revealed and means for One Piece, explained

Essentially, Dr. Vegapunk’s entire message and its impact on the One Piece world can be fairly easily summarized. First, it confirms that the Mother Flame is the source of eternal energy, which Dr. Vegapunk had pursued. Secondly, it confirms that the Mother Flame can be used to power the ancient weapons, giving them a level of destructive power demonstrated via the Kingdom of Lulusia’s destruction.

This, in turn, also confirms that the third and final ancient weapon, Uranus, was used to destroy Lulusia, with fans already knowing where Pluton and Poseidon are.

The message also confirms Joyboy and Sun God Nika to be two separate people, with fans previously thinking they were the same. Likewise, one long-standing fan theory was confirmed via the reveal of the series’ islands being what’s left of massive continents.

Dr. Vegapumk's entire message in One Piece also confirms that the Void Century War is still ongoing, which is likely what motivates Imu and the Gorosei and explains Joyboy’s desire to pass the ancient weapons down.

More subtly, the message also confirms that the use of the ancient Uranus weapon on Lulusia is what caused the 1-meter rise in sea level that the world is currently experiencing. It’s also subtly confirmed that the Void Century was made blank deliberately by its war’s victors.
